Episode 57 - The Surprise

Her palm burnt but not to the extent of the burn on his cheek. Another slap landed on the same side of his cheek adding to the fire.

"How could you? How could you do that?" Juri cried standing infront of him.

"You protected me. You protected me from all the monsters trying to hurt me. But you have now hurted your own wife" Juri wailed unable to stand the pain in her heart. She couldn't believe Jungkook did such a thing.

His face was down in shame and disgust. There was nothing he could say at the moment. He deserved it. He deserved more than that. After he called his doctor, the time when his doctor reached, he saw his whole family returning from airport. Taehyung, Juri and Frank held utter confusion on why would their doctor be here and also only the female doctor was here along with two nurses.

Jungkook couldn't bring a word to them. That he had ruined her and he couldn't remember a thing. His face was down and he continued to be silent as he was having a mental breakdown. His sense stopped working long time ago after he had called his doctor. He just wanted Layla to be alive and that was all his mind and heart was whispering. He did not care about anythung else. He just wanted her to open her eyes. Then what would he do? Beg for forgiveness his conscience mocked. But he did not care. He just wanted her to be fine.

Their confusion and frustration turned into agony when they heard what happened from their doctor. Even his doctor didn't believe that he was the one who did this to his own wife when he called her. The doctor looked Jungkook with disgust after examining Layla's condition. The moment they heard the Layla's condition, it was Juri who first reacted and landed a hard strike on his face. He did not stop her neither did Taehyung. When Taehyung heard the doctor mention the word rape, his blood veins boiled and he wanted to kill that bastard who did this to Layla. She was no one to him initially. However, she crawled with efforts to him which made him eventually give a place in his heart as a family and now he couldn't do one job of protecting her. The bastard, a bestfriend of his has taken advantage of her weak form. Those were the thoughts that curled his head. His fists tightened as he dug his nails into his palm and knuckles whitened as he fought himself to control his inner beast which was surfacing to kill Jungkook. Just one look at him, he will butcher him with his own hands. Yet touching Jungkook itself made Taehyung disgust.

His heart broke when he saw Layla lying there with IV trips. At first he marched like an enraged monster towards Jungkook, but ceased his way. He did not want to hit Jungkook as it will just physically punish. He stopped not because he realized Jungkook's face had pain and guilt, but he did not deserve physical punishment at all. The mere thought of someone hitting them for the crime they commited may make their mind from edge and he did not want that for Jungkook. For what he did to Layla, he wanted to suffer with guilt and pain.

But when Juri slapped her, he did not stop. He was worried for her condition. Taehyung's mind weighed in worry and concern for his wife when she saw her grabbing Jungkook's collar. Juri was exhausting herself. The travel already made her tired. But still she was so happy when she entered the mansion to open the surprise she had. But everything fell apart because of that bastard.

Taehyung's brown eyes glared at the bastard who's collar his wife was clutching and bombarding him questions. He wanted her to stop not because of Jungkook but atleast for her but he couldn't come to. When his brown eyes sensed a light dizziness hitting his wife's body he immediately ran to her. However, Jungkook had already noticed and held her in his arms.

"Juri..." Jungkook's worried voice came out.

"Don-t touch me" Juri slowly seethed though she felt light headed couldn't stand her ground.

Jungkook's heart broke on hearing her words yet his hold on her was firm. In seconds, Taehyung was near Juri on the other side of her. It took all of his strength to not smash Jungkook's head to the nearest wall. Taehyung shoved Jungkook to a side and took hold Juri gently. He picked her up and carried her to their room.

"Uncle ask the doctor to visit my room after she is done with Layla. She needs to check on Juri. And do not leave Layla until I am back" Taehyung commanded Frank glaring at Jungkook who looked at him.

Fuck him.

Jungkook's red brimmed dark orbs gazed on Juri who was unconscious in Taehyung's arm. Another fear creeped his vein on what happened to Juri.

After sometime the doctor came again and this time, she saw only Jungkook and Frank.

Finally he brought out the words.

"Is she in critical condition?" He asked with blank emotions to the doctor.

"She is out of danger. But this will cause her trauma. She will get physically well in a few days but mentally" the doctor paused.

"Go ahead" Jungkook spoke in a blank tone though inside he was having turmoil.

"Mentally she needs help. I cannot tell exactly until she wakes up and healing process require therapist. It is not my area of expertise. I have given the name to my nurses and I have also personally talked to her. It is your queue to bring the therapist in as soon as possible if you wanted to do check on her. I will come tomorrow again to check on her. Nurses will be in twenty four hour shift looking after her" and before she could leave, Frank told that she had to check on Juri too. Jungkook moved towards his room, however Frank was looking at him with the same disgust he's been receiving from his entire family ever since they came to know.

He did not step inside the bedroom. He stood outside and gazed at the figure who was lying on the bed with IV trips attached. His heart clenched and he so badly wanted to go hug the poor soul. But he was the cause. His legs took him to where Juri was and he saw the doctor and Taehyung coming out of the room.

Taehyung thanked her. When he was about to enter into his room again, he saw Jungkook waiting around the corner. Taehyung saw Jungkook stopping the doctor asking her how Juri is.

"Nothing to worry. Exhaustion and stress took over her. Early stages of pregnancy is very important" the doctor told as if she did not drop him a bomb.

Jungkook's eyes widened and then his eyes immediately moved to Taehyung who was watching him with no emotions at all.

"Preg-nant?" His voice croaked.

The doctor realized he did not know.

She turned to look back and gazed at Taehyung who was still glaring at Jungkook.

"Your sister is pregnant Mr.Jeon" the doctor spoke again and his eyes landed again on Taehyung.

That was the surprise Juri had for him and he destroyed the moment he was supposed to congratulate and celebrate with his sister.
