Her eyes landed on something awful.
The man she thought to be dead near her feet pulled a knife and stabbed straight into Jungkook's right outer thigh. She was terrorized by the sight of warm blood spurting out from his thigh. His whole body jolted forward resting his hand on her shoulder for the support. Jungkook was completely exhausted because of the brawl with the other men. But still this pain in his thigh will never near to his childhood anguish. This ache was just a twinge for him.
Another unexpected happened when man laying near her feet, hauled the knife from his thigh and charged straight to Jungkook's flank. The knife was stabbed halfway through but he couldn't thrust it fully inside as the blade was stopped by another palm. Layla's palm was already on the other half of the knife blade stopping the man from pushing it any further inside.
When Jungkook saw his wife clenching the knife blade his drained and weary brown eyes channeled dark shades throwing away exhaustion and bleariness. Not caring about his pain, he stomped the man almost crushing him. His other hand removed Layla's bloody palm. Grunting loudly, he pulled off the half stabbed knife from his flank. With a blast Jungkook thrusted the same knife into the man's shoulder making the blood, gush and speckle on his face.
He again pulled the knife only to shove straight into the man's head. His dark eyes enraged and burning fire with blood across his face, he turned to his wife. Her green eyes still more submerged in complete horror by his actions. Slowly, her terrified green eyes blurred in his vision. He could sense the darkness creeping leisurely as if wanting to engulf his sight. But he remained himself to open his damn eyes and not faint. The dark sky already stopped it's shower.
"Get the gun from the car" he mumbled walking towards his dirty parka on the road.
She blankly did what he told unable to think and process anything. Every single thing that happened here would have never happened to most of them. Besides, this was her first time witnessing a kill and on top of that it was her husband who killed.
"Can you drive?" Jungkook asked.
She nodded quietly.
Jungkook limped to one of the two cars that chased them.
"Get in" he yelled.
Quickly hopping inside the car, she started driving, hoping she would soon reach their home. Questions crawled her mind.
'What will happen? Will the police arrest Jungkook? Who are those people trying to kill him? Why was this happening?'
She didn't know where she was driving but just straight with Jungkook besides him.
"Give me my cellphone" Jungkook asked more as a whisper.
She suddenly halted the car. Her eyes turned to him. She could tell he was in lot of pain. She was surprised that he was even able to utter a word after this long brawl. She slowly opened her mouth.
"I forgot your phone in your car" she murmured quietly looking down.
Jungkook sighed. Saying nothing, he took another mobile from his dirty blue parka and just handed it to her.
When she typed his password she knew, the mobile didn't unlock making her question him his password. He just looked at her with a silent gaze and then she understood that it was her cellphone that he brought that day when she pushed him in the pool. Her eyes slowly shocked in surprise.
Just when she was about to unlock her mobile a blaring light fell upon those two through the windshield. The light was so bright she couldn't even open her eyes. Slowly it was turned off and the she could she a black silhouette standing in the centre of three cars with guards infront of him. She was again embedded with fear and anxiety. Her breathing quickened with fright. She looked at Jungkook who was in ache but his eyes looked cold as if he had killed a ghost. The guards rushed towards them and she immediately locked the car. She started the engine and the headlight of her car fell revealing the black silhouette.
Jungkook's brown eyes fell on the figure in front of them. Just when the lights hit on the figure, his slowly shuddering eyelids completely closed knowing that his wife is in safe hands.
Her breathing slowly calmed down as Taehyung walked towards them. Her face turned to Jungkook to see him unconscious. Her eyes immediately concerned and worried. She nudged his arms scared for him. Taehyung knocked the window asking her to unlock the door. Opening the door, she jumped out and ran to Jungkook's side. Taehyung and Layla carried Jungkook. Taehyung signalled the guards to take care of the mess happened. Layla didn't speak a word and neither did Taehyung enquire her. He can understand the aftereffect on her of such incidents.
Layla saw two doctors already on the standby waiting for them to reach. As soon as Jungkook was brought home he wasn't taken to his room but to another area inside the mansion itself. Layla hurried to see where was his husband being taken. She was flabbergasted to see a private med room inside the mansion. The doctors and nurses proceeded quickly with precision and with no nervousness as if this wasn't their first time. The female doctor operating on Jungkook signalled Taehyung to get Layla out of there.
"Let's wait outside" Taehyung pulled her out letting the doctors to do their work.
The male doctor gave a firm nod to Taehyung and continued his work.
"Who are they? What is going on? Why are they try to attack? What will happen to Jungkook? Will he be arrested?" Layla now blasted Taehyung with questions and doubts.
Taehyung smiled hearing the last question. He was glad that she was concerned about Jungkook. He knew that she is part of their small family and she has every rights to know what was happeneing around her. But then Taehyung didn't want to bring her also to their dark world where both Jungkook and him are still striving hard to escape themselves from the obsure cryptic blackness.
Layla saw him open his lips to answer her questions.
