an ice-cream castle
with cream-filled puffs
that float like clouds in your mouth
wafer sticks guard the gate
from which chocolate rivers
flow out
into the moat
of the bowl below, and
from atop the throne
high above, at the summit's peak
(the sundae's peak, i mean)
a hand-picked cherry is placed
i don't mistake
the cherry with
what truly matters, for
in a world where people come and go
i'm glad to make and eat ice-cream with
those i love the most.
I needed to write something cheerful today.
