Chapter 6 - [5~5] Arrival

It has been a huge journey and Chen ru was practically exhausted, yet only Chen ru was exhausted as he did not learn martial arts

The army was nearing its destination, so its marching speed has bee reduced, the horses marched in a slow speed while Chen ru and Zhan zu was on the lead

Chen ru looked at on the far side of their direction and saw a huge chained mountains and a pass on the side

There has been huge tents all over the place with troops working together building the pass, the sun will soon set giving its yellow glow from the horizon

Many miles away is the province of Danyan at the cost of the northern seas, the fresh winds of the grassland sway as the clouds dances through the sky, a true great paradise

"Fall will soon come and then winter, what are you're plan Marshal?" Chen ru suddenly asked which gave Zhan zu a smile

"Well this may be not good as snow will pass in this region, it may be good to advance on the ground of east, not too far away" Chen ru frown "something is amiss"

Zhan zu can also feel it as they marched closer from the Hayan pass "the emperor is planning something" Chen ru suddenly looked at Chen ru "an assasination I suppose?"

"Hm, it could be or it could be not" Chen ru sigh "the emperor may be a bit alert by my appearance within you're army" Zhan zu smirked

''You got the nail hit on the head, the short coming of you're eyes are just too significant as of you are a very young scholar with a bright mind" Chen ru chuckle "what can you do?"

"What do you plan?" Zhan zu asked again, Chen ru faced the front and smiled "well, clearly my family choses you as the main candidate for the next succession, it is just normal for me to help you"

Zhan zu raised his eyebrow "I thought it would be a bit difficult to let you're trust came before me?" Chen ru can only sigh "I indeed did not trust you, but my grandfather trusted you so my grandfather has a huge judgment capability, superior then mine, and in any case I can only provide my insight"

Zhan zu smiled "well that is good, we will talk after we arrive" Chen ru nodded silently as they slowly approach the pass

Chen ru looked at the distance and saw a massive city of tents with working soldiers working on the near completed pass

"Min you" Chen ru called out and Min you stepped in "yes young master" Chen ru looked at Min you "take the army with Han si, leave Xiao ni with me and set up a camp base near the central camp of the Zhan army, be sure not to be discovered and wait for further orders"

"Yes master" Min you marched his horse and ordered them to march back, Xiao ni came at his left side "shall we get going?" Zhan zu asked

"En" Zhan zu and Chen ru along with their other sub commanders entered the city of tents built for the Zhan army

The Zhan army consist of 200,000 soldiers which is extremely large, and Zhan zu controlled this mass army alone

"We greet Marshal!" Everyone greeted as they saw Zhan zu coming in "you can go back to work, do not be distracted" Zhan zu spoke which everyone follows and soon spread the news

Everyone was surprised to see a Chen family blood in the army which brought great curiosity among the men, the tent sight is very large

It almost took half an hour to reach the central tent of the army, Chen ru entered the tent with a sigh

He then took a seat at the table on the side "take a seat young master" Lan jie instructed which Chen ru already has done, everyone understand Chen ru struggles as a mage and a scholar he was not exposed to many activites

So it is normal for him to be this exhausted "all of you, you may go out" Lan jie, Min han and Zhi yun got out of the tent except Xiao ni

Chen ru stand up and went on the large table on the middle of the room "Xiao ni you may go out, just stay outside" Xiao ni bowed and left the room leaving Chen ru and Zhan zu alone

Chen ru observed the map on the table about the Hayan pass engineering structure "I am greatly impressed by the engineering about this Hayan pass"

Zhan zu smiled "I designed them my self" Chen ru raised his eyebrow "I think someone was mixed between the soldiers of yours"

"I have known that yet I just let it be and know their purpose through time" Chen ru nodded "let us get through the business, the succession of the throne"

Zhan zu raised his eyebrow "what about it?" Chen ru sigh "The succession will happen between 4 years from now" Zhan zu frown

"Is this one of you're ability to see the future?" Chen ru looked at Zhan zu weirdly 'what am I a fortune teller?'

"I have dreamed about it, 5 forces are trying there hands to reach the throne so you should be prepared in advance" Zhan zu looked at Chen ru with a smile

"I never new you're dreams are that real, but you are right about the five forces to take the throne" Zhan zu smiled "currently the forces of the crown prince has the most military power within 300,000 troops, we are the second yet there is more about this"

Chen ru also nodded "we need an illusion" Zhan zh faced Chen ru across the table and looked at him with a smile "are you thinking about disguising our selves as backing away from the throne race?"

"It is more convenient that way, more or less the emperor is not a fool that so many people are after for the throne, he may eradicate 1 of us from the 5 forces"

"For what reason?" Zhan zu asked "for balance" Zhan zu smiled as he understand "you are truly worthy of being the young bright young master of the Chen family that will bring honor for you're dead and living ancestor"
