Chapter 110 An Unpleasant Surprise Round 2 The Next Generation

Brownsville, Oregon

Luan was at rehearsal for Stand By Me with her son Logan, She had other movies to work on like Top Gun as Charlotte Charlie Blackwood and also co-starring again with Lucy this time in Blue City as Debbie Torres as well as being Cast on Critters as April Brown and Ironically, April Fool's Day as Nikki Brashares although Luan did audition for the role of the trouble making prankster Muffy she lost it to Deborah Freeman and was relegated to Nikki but for today she was here for her son she only had a few days of work with Stand By Me and then she's done while her son will be here for a couple of months good thing it's summer vacation anyway they were waiting to find out who was cast as the fourth boy in the story which would be interesting and the reason she even signed on to Stand By Me was because of the director of her most recent completed and released film 9 1/2 Weeks playing the part of Thea, Adrian Lyne asked her to join it 9 1/2 Weeks was the first ever movie Luan worked with Adrian as they're previous try in Flashdance failed when Luan quit the auditions after failing to get the starring role and now by being in Stand By Me Adrian hoped she would audition for his next film which would go into production later this year

Meanwhile with Lincoln and Brandon they were almost there at the studio for some reason the director never told them who plays Vern in the movie weird and out of the whole cast the director left out Vern and a waitress when telling Lincoln and Christina Brandon's castmates

As they enter the production studio, Both Brandon and Lincoln are stunned that Luan is here they spotted her wearing a 1950s waitress uniform for costume fitting, Lincoln is mad but this time decided to behave in a mature and professional manner and address the situation and talk to the director Rob Reiner

Lincoln: What is she doing here?
Rob Reiner: Who??
Lincoln: Who else would I be talking about Luan!?
Rob Reiner: Oh her she's in this picture but not for long... only for a few days
Lincoln: Oh ok but why didn't you tell us this?
Rob Reiner: I'm sorry it must've slipped my mind I didn't think you would mind
Lincoln: Oh ok as long as she's only here for a few days it's fine
Rob Reiner: but there's one little problem her son Logan is gonna be one of Brandon's 3 co stars for the duration of the movie
Lincoln was annoyed by this but he decided to let it slide as Luan's boy can't possibly be anything like his mother right?

Meanwhile with Luan she was shocked to see Lincoln here with a young boy who looks exactly like him when he was 11 with a few differences but remembering how he reacted 4 years ago she decided against approaching and confronting them to avoid things going that way

Rob Reiner got a great idea instead of shooting right away he put the four main actors together for two weeks to play video games from Viola Spolin's Improvisation for the theater or bible of theatre games as Reiner would call it while he filmed around them and filmed the other scenes in the movie that didn't involve the four boys, during their time away the boys got to build a camaraderie, which led to a real friendship between them even between Logan and Brandon but they both almost came to blows earlier in the vacation because of what Luan and the family did to Lincoln and Lincoln's grudge against them and him insulting Logan's mom but thankfully Will Wheaton and River Phoenix, River in Particular managed to defuse the situation and get the two to deal with their family feud without fighting but overtime after talking it out the two became close again and when filming finally started for them, they all did the scenes in one shot takes and the young actors hit their cues perfectly.

Meanwhile with Lincoln

3 June 1986

He was getting ready to go to England for his two fights against David Pearce and more importantly Frank Bruno he was packing up, he would be leaving for England tomorrow and it was important for him to win both before he returned to The United States so he can continue his rise up the rankings his next fight after David Pearce and Frank Bruno will be in August against Tony Tucker but only if beats Frank Bruno

Meanwhile with The Heavyweight division here was the slightly changed Top 10 heavyweight rankings of the heavyweight division

James Buster Douglas defeated Trevor Berbick in Madison Square Garden by Majority Decision to earn a spot on the top 10

Greg Page won on points against the returning Pinklon Thomas by Split decision

Tony Tubbs came back to knock out Eddie Gonzales and Bernado Mercado to knock on the door of the top 10 again

Mike Tyson came back to knock out Gordon Racette and Scott Frank to stay relevant in the division since he lost to Martin and Loud

Rocky Sekorski knocked out Leon Spinks in the 6th round but would lose a decision in his next fight to rising Italian star Francesco Damiani

Meanwhile with David Pearce he was training very hard for Lincoln Loud so that he can beat him but then disaster struck as he broke his leg in a car accident and now had to be replaced Bob Arum the promoter of this fight was now desperately looking for an opponent to fight Lincoln he asked a few of the top 10 but was rejected before getting lucky as he had 3 fighters who would be interested in the fight against Lincoln in Tony Tubbs, Trevor Berbick and James Buster Douglas and they all didn't mind fighting in England

For Lincoln he heard the sad news as he was now flying to London with Clyde and the boys and made a vow to one day fight David Pearce as he owed him that fight
Lincoln: When I get my title back I'll give a Pearce a shot as I do owe him a match in four squares
Clyde: Isn't that risky?
Lincoln: He deserves it after looking the guy up I found he's a great fighter and former English and European Heavyweight Champion so he definitely warrants a shot but for now I'll have to pick a replacement among the 3 fighters Arum got for me
