Chapter 23: Yoshida Shouyou

Yoshida Shouyou, the beloved master of Oboro, Gintoki, Katsura, Takasugi, and Nobume. The younger twin brother of Utsuro and best friend of Kouka. Lets begin with the his story. Shouyou and his twin brother Utsuro were born in the Yoshida who the Ryuumaku Clan change their name to protect each other from the government who fear them. At the age of six, Shouyou and Utsuro watch their parents being killed by the government's agents and run away from their home and moved to Edo, Kabuki District which they meet Yato Kouka who was a mixed between both Yato and Ryuumaku Clans. They grew up together and being on the care of Otose and her late husband Tatsugoro. They were close and never try to betray each other since they were like family. Kouka and Shouyou were always share the same interest of helping people and building a school where people who want to protect others can become stronger. But Utsuro couldn't let go of the hatred for the government and their politics that discrimination both Yato and Ryuumaku Clans. because of this hatred, Utsuro tried to convince both Shouyou and Kouka to join forces with him and take revenge on the government and their politics.

But Shouyou and Kouka didn't want to kill people for out of revenge since they want to live for their families. Because of that, Utsuro decide to leave Edo and never been again. Shouyou felt bad for his brother who he couldn't take the hate and pain from his heart and soul that was corrupted. After years, Shouyou found Oboro and Gintoki in the streets as homeless and orphans which he decide to take in along with former rich family Katsura Kotaro, the delinquent Takasugi Shinsuke, and Nobume the orphan girl who become the little sister of his family. They grew up in the life of carefree and blissfully happiness where Gintoki and Takasugi would fight out their rival which Shouyou and Oboro stop them.

Shouyou always got letters from Kouka and her married life with the Yato King Kanko or Umibozu who's a idiot which Umibozu thought thag Shouyou and Kouka were dating but they were just friends and never took a interest on each other of romantic or affection. Umibozu was a really a idiot. But the day come when government forces found out about Shouyou and Utsuro which they went to Edo and Gintoki along with the others tried to defend their master and father figure but Shouyou didn't let them get hurt or involved with matter of his heritage and died out the sword they stabbed on his heart. Before he died, he spoke his last words. "Please, live on and never stop fighting for whose are important in your souls. My beloved children".

After that, everyone went their own paths and trying to live the legacy that Shouyou left them. Gintoki soon got into his old home and school Shoka Sonjuku. His childhood memories of their home were almost dead but still live in their souls. "Oboro! Takasugi! Come out or I will kick your asses! You bastards!" He shouted which Oboro come in disbelief and asked Gintoki 'how do you call your older brother a bastard when he took care of you for your whole life'. Gintoki scoff before Takasugi come out and saying he never change. "Stop with your bullshit, I'm here to talk about how did you found out Shouyou has a brother? Granny told me everything and that guy named Utsuro really sounds like a bad person like one of those Shounen's villains" he said.

Takasugi smokes while Oboro give him a file about Utsuro. "This how bad Utsuro really is, Gintoki" Oboro said which Gin open it and shocked seeing how many deaths Utsuro did and more of innocent people or family members of the government's people got involved with the massacre of Utsuro. He was really a monster. "When we found out those files who we stolen from a government's agent. We were shocked seeing Utsuro was psychopathy and different with Shouyou. I guess this was the reason why Shouyou and Kouka-san never join him" Takasugi said. Gintoki couldn't believe it but Otose was right. Utsuro was different from Shouyou. Shouyou was kind, gentle, and a loving father while Utsuro, heartless, murderous and cold-blooded killer. No wonder why Otose warn him.

"When did you found out Shouyou has a brother?" Gintoki asked which Takasugi replied that Oboro found some of his stuff hidden and saw the picture of him with Utsuro and Kouka in their youth. Gintoki soon sigh and looked at them. "You want to kill him, don't you?" Gintoki bluntly spoke which Oboro stare at him fiercely while Takasugi didn't twitch. "Listen, Gintoki. We're aware of he's our master older brother but all he done is death and destruction. He's planning to destroy Edo along with Kabuki District because the roots of the government are here. We can't let him destroy Shouyou's legacy and everything he work for along with Kouka-sana and their children. Do you want the future of her daughter being destroy by the madness of Utsuro?" Oboro question which Gintoki was shocked.

He thought of Kagura's future and what she's going do after college along with Shinpachi, his friends, and Tsukuyo. He didn't want them to be killed because of the revenge Utsuro thirst for against his family and his clan death. He knew he would kill his master's brother but if he really care about his brother's people then, he would stop. "Alright, if we going to do this, then it will be the five of us and our friends helping us out. I might go to hell for killing Shouyou's brother but it my greatest pleasure burden it with you" Gintoki said which Takasugi comment 'Shiroyasha has return again'. Oboro stated it will also be his pleasure carrying the same sin like him. "Yeah but first, we need also weapons. We need Sakamoto" he said which Takasugi replied 'Sakamoto? I haven't heard from him since I left Edo'. Oboro soon asked Gintoki if he does know his number which Gintoki soon twitch and looked over the sky.

"HEY AMAYARELIS-SAN!!! DO YOU KNOW SAKAMOTO'S PHONE NUMBER!"

"Wait a fat second! You forget Sakamoto's phone number?!"
