Chapter 24: Will You Marry Me?

Scene at Mumbai:

D early morning wind buzzed through d streets of d city. D roads were less huddled in traffic. The fewer people jogged across d footpath savoring d weather of morning. Rey stopped his car across d big jewelry shop, sheltered beside d tranquil park. He stride into d shop and examined d place. He grinned and fished out d cell from his pant pocket.

Scene shifts to KM:

Taani slept peacefully snuggling into d bed. D cold weather of autumn in KM chilled her body resulting to cover her whole self in a thick woolen blanket. She could hear d similar bickering noises around her, but d dizziness held her way back from awakening.

"Titli, God dear. Just get d hell up. We r running late for d college" Purvi hopped on Taani's bed kneeling beside her and struggled to pull d blanket out of her face. "Oh shut up, birdy. We still have time" Taani groaned under her breathe. "Areee......." Purvi stopped in mid as d cell phone of Taani screeched as rocking music band. She lowered bending across Taani n picked up d call even before Taani could lay hand on it. Taani grunted n fell back to snoring mildly.

Scene shifts to Mumbai [St.Louis]:

"Guys, where is Rey?" Sharon wondered scanning d gang when she didn't find her best buddy. "Raat bar Taani se romantic baate karte karte, abi tak so raha hoga" Bharath humored. None laughed since Swayam was glaring straight at him. "Swayam, kuch karo. We need him here. Aaj ki graduation day ka sara program schedule uske paas hai" Sharon sounded icy. Swayam smiled n nodded.

Scene shifts to KM:

"Rey, kya tum Taani se ek second bi baat karne bina nahi reh sakte kya?" Purvi snarled in d phone making him jump on d other hand. He expected to hear Taani's sweet melody voice which would fill him with only love instead he received her furious bhabi's sarcasm. "Wo..." He choked pretending to search an answer. "Well, don't try to act. Tumahri wajahse Taani abi tak so rahi hai." She chided. "Per meine kya kiya? Mein toh Mumbai mein hi hun, toh bala mein Taani ko kuch kya kar sakta hun" He blinked innocently trying to act smart. "Oh shut up, idiot. I was talking about ur late night calls, got it" She twitched her mouth in annoyance already regretting for opening such embarrassing topic. "K, mujhe Taani se urgently baat karni hai. Please use phone dona" He pleaded. "U r not so lucky. Wo abi tak so rahi hai. Waise bi, I'm taking her to college since we have work to amend for our graduation day. Pata nahi Rohan bi kaha reh gaya. Now please yaar let me try to wake up ur sleeping beauty" with that she not so unkindly cut d call.

Scene shifts to Mumbai:

Rey was flushed, with a twinge of remembrance his mind lit up. He supposed to be in d college helping gang. But moreover this work was much more important. His life's turning choice would be taken, so he wanted everything to be perfect. Without any further delay he dialed to Arjun. "Hey, rockstar. Itni subah? Kya baat hai?" He sounded amused. "Bro, I need ur help. It's important" He explained his plan. As he detailed everything, on d other side, Arjun's eyes gleamed in surprise. "Dude, r u serious?" He winced in ecstasy. "Of course, I don't want to delay, bro. Not any further. R u gonna help me na?" He was accurate about what he was going to do. "Sure, my little brother. I'm proud of u." He honored.

Scene shifts to KM [St. Lounge]:

"What on d earth is still left out, birdy" Taani yawned striding along with Purvi while she checked all d last arrangements. "What's up, ladies?" Rohan joined them throwing a wistful smile. He sat beside Taani on d high table n put his arms across her shoulders. Purvi was had enough of their laziness. "............ God, u both r reckless idiots" She was freaking out on both. RoNi exchanged a stiff looks and burst out of laughing.
