Itachi chastised himself. There was no point in losing sleep over something that would probably never happen. Shisui wouldn't show up at the café. Why would he? Itachi was inconsiderate and pushed Shisui away for no good reason.

He tossed and turned, knowing that deep down he hoped to see that same warm smile Shisui always wore. The twinkle in his onyx eyes. The warmth that was Shisui.

Shisui was his first, that in itself was the best sex he ever had – Kakashi couldn't compare. Hearing Shisui grunt as he climaxed, the way Shisui held Itachi in his arms...Itachi missed that. He missed it greatly.

In his semi-awake state – he could recall Shisui's smell; pine trees and earthy.

Itachi, true to his clinical manner, realised that it was unlikely Shisui would show up. Shisui hung up on Itachi – that must've been an indication that he wanted nothing to do with Itachi. Further calculation prompted, why would Shisui even show up?

Why would he show up?

Why would he show up?

Why would he show up?

It was those reoccurring questions that lulled Itachi into a restless sleep...

He was startled awake when his alarm blared at him. Itachi sighed and turned it off – he had only gotten two hours of sleep. He got out from under his cover – immediately feeling the attack of fatigue. His muscles felt weak and his head felt light.

He checked the time: 7:52am

He had eight minutes to get ready as Royal Roasteries opened at eight o' clock. Itachi sprung out of bed, all but ran to the shower – choosing not to wash his hair and scrubbed himself viciously.

Shisui's warmth.

He got out of the shower, hastily dried himself and got dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans and an oversized hoodie. He hoped the long sleeves of the hoodie would cover his hands – which were fidgeting nervously.

He sprinted to the front door but Sasuke stopped him, "Why are you running like a maniac?"

Itachi turned to look at Sasuke, "Oh my God, Sasuke! I'm going to meet Shisui...I hope. If he shows up – and I don't know what to expect! What if he-"

Sasuke placed a calming hand on his older brother, "It will all work out how it should."

Itachi felt a surge of reassurance wash over him – and it all came from his younger brother. Itachi leaned down and kissed Sasuke's head.

"Thank you", he said, holding back tears.

He left the apartment and walked rather fast to the café. It wasn't a cold day but the air had a bite to it. Itachi was grateful he wore a hoodie. People passed, cars sped down the road – but all Itachi could focus on was his nerves. It had been four years since he last saw Shisui – he didn't know what to expect.

Before he knew it he was outside the doors of Royal Roasteries. Taking a deep breath he entered the establishment. He decided to sit at a booth that was visible from the entrance...assuming Shisui even showed up.

"Goodbye Shisui."

Itachi's mind taunted him. He bit viciously on his bottom lip, fiddling with the sleeves of his hoodie. People came in, Itachi could tell by the ringing of the bell attached to the front door. Each and every time he looked up – expecting to see the tan man – but he wasn't there.

Time passed by in a rushed hurry – Itachi's dread clung to him like gum.

Why would Shisui show up, he wondered. Itachi knew he wasn't important enough to demand an encounter with the man he hurt during his own depression and uncertainty.
