After walking for a while, Bucky spotted a store and pulled out a wad of Russia currency,
"We're gonna need a disguise." He said with a shrug and walked into a department store. I ran down the clothing aisle and got me new jeans and sweatshirts. I looked at Bucky who had jeans and some t shirts in his arms,
"Go to the shoe aisle and grab sneakers, for both of us." I said, he nodded and I turned toward the cosmetic aisle and grabbed dark brown hair dye, I've been a blonde for so long and now I'm going brunette. I walked over to some gloves and grabbed them, followed by grabbing cheap wedding rings. Bucky looked at me,
"So we're fake married now?" He asked with a smirk, I rolled my eyes,
"James." I said softly as I walked up to the front of the store and bought the items, we walked outside and Bucky smiled at me,
"Emily Grace, you're fake marrying me." He said as he reached in a bag and pulled out the female wedding set and slid it on my finger,
"James Buccanon. Don't read into it." I said as I smiled at him, he gave me an innocent smile. I rolled my eyes and I put the male wedding ring on his finger,
"Emily Barnes, has a ring to it huh?" Bucky asked as he threw and arm around my shoulder as we walked down the street looking for apartment,
"Yeah sure. You're really enjoying this marriage thing don't you?" I asked as I leaned against him. He smirked at me as we walked up to a building and we got an apartment, Bucky did all the talking because, I don't speak Russian.

We walked into a not very clean apartment but it was big enough for us to have places to sleep. I started to wash the counters and clean up the floors before Bucky joined me on my hands and knees scrubbing dirty crevices,
"You're going to regret this later." I said with a wink as I elbowed him in the ribs before I stood up, letting Bucky finish the floors while I cleaned the counters,
"You'll regret not holding onto the cradle." He muttered through his teeth, I rolled my eyes as I scrubbed the counter inch by inch, and back again,
"I told you how I ended up here because you needed to know." I said as I washed my hands and stepped back to look at my work, I smiled as the living room area was nearly spotless,
"Enjoying this a little too much?" Bucky asked as he swung his arm around my waist and pulled me against him,
"I just want to be happy for a while." I said softly as I walked into the bedroom where I saw that Bucky has cleaned it up and got new sheets,
"I figured you'd want new sheets and everything." Bucky walked in front of me and I stood there in silence for a second, "if you don't like them I'll go g-" I put my hand up before I jumped on him and hugged him. Luckily, Bucky is strong enough to hold us both up. He put his hands under my thighs just to make sure I didn't fall,
"It's perfect, I love it James." I said in his ear and I held onto him before I kissed his stubbled cheek, he put me down as he grinned at me. I walked around the room before I saw a picture of us from when we were teens, I had to have been 16 and he was 19, we left that time just five years later. Now we are almost a hundred years old.
"You used to love this picture." He whispered, he kissed the top of my head and wrapped his arms around my waist,
"I still do." I spoke as I drew in a breath. If anyone told that girl that just 5 years later she'd be injected with a chemical and thrown into the ocean, I don't think she'd believe them. I wouldn't believe my life was real at this point, I am in hiding with my brother's best friend and I'm honestly falling for him. My thoughts were interrupted by Bucky talking, I didn't hear him so I leaned my head back and looked up at him,
"Are you okay? You spaced out on me." He said gently as he played with the end of my hair, I smiled up at him and nodded,
"I'm fine, just thinking about the good old days." I said softly, Bucky took my hand walked me into the kitchen before he sat me on the counter and stuck his pinkie up in front of my face,
"Promise me you're okay." He spoke so gently, like I would break if he didn't,
"I promise I'm okay, I just sort of miss the 1940s." I smiled as I locked my pinkie with his, we both leaned forward and kissed our hand, I leaned back blushing, as I tried to hide the red in my face I was lifted up again. Bucky sat me on the couch and put my head on his shoulder as I looked out the window,
"Look it's the sun set." He whispered, I giggled and ran out to the window and looked out as I watched the colors of the sun set looking back at me,
"It's beautiful." I spoke softly as if I'd interrupt the colors if I spoke too loud. Bucky stood behind me and looked over my shoulder,
"It truly is beautiful." He said right next to my ear, I smiled to myself as I contemplated whether that was a compliment to me or the sky.
