As I think of the friends I need and american dreams,
my child brain thinks of joy and happiness.
As I read the writings I made of the friends I need and american dreams,
my teenage mind agrees but struggles to compute.
Will I live the life I wanted back when I believed,
in the friends I need and american dreams.
Will I get to have the friends I need?
Will I get to live those dreams,
I have both young and old?
Will I get to be happy in the end?
