I am tired
Tired of being compared
With others, by others
Every move of mine
Is being pushed to pedestal
As though awaiting a jury verdict
By those who themselves aren't having clean slate of their own.
I don't have to undergo such scrutiny
I needn't have to go through a charade to please others.
I am tired
Of justifying myself
To others
For every action and reaction that I make
I am tired,
Of having to explain myself and my actions,
I am not obliged to do so
I needn't have to
This thought was always on the table, right before me all along,
But I seemed to have picked up on it today
Realised the meaning of each word today,
And will work on letting go of these baggage that I've carried for far too long..
