CHAPTER 39

"So how it is going on with Jay?" Sara asks as we both settle in my bed after dinner.

"It is going great," I say, a smile automatically coming onto my face.

"I can tell that," she says, pointing at my smile.

I smile sheepishly at her and look at my phone, which had started ringing.

"Just one second," I say to her and pick up the phone which is displaying his name with the photo.

Sara smiles teasingly at me and takes her phone in his hand, "take your time."

I pick up the phone, blushing if I may add, "Hello."

"Hello Kiu," I hear Jay's voice.

"Jay, you forget that I am having a sleepover with Sara?" I ask.

"Oh, I very well remember that, Kiu. But, I was missing you," I smile hearing him. Well, I am missing him too, but he doesn't need to know that right now or, he will suggest me to keep talking with him. And I want to spend some time with Sara.

Jay and Adi are amazing, but I need a female friend too.

"Well, I was not. So, we will talk tomorrow," I hear Jay and Sara beside me scoff, making me roll my eyes. Come on, at least they both can pretend that I am sometimes good at this.

"Oh come on by now, you should know that you suck when it comes to lying," Jay says, chuckling, "ok let's make a deal, spend time with Sara today, but you have to sit with me on Monday."

I groan but agree nonetheless, after all, it has been more than one and half a month since I had sat with Jay and Adi.

"Ok promise, now by."

"Bye."

Later, Sara and I talk for a while as tomorrow is the holiday, so we don't have to wake up early. But, we didn't realise when the conversation moves to a serious one.

"I never thought that she would do something like this," Sara says, referring to Misha.

"Don't tell this to Bhai. I had talked to her a few days ago," I look at her, shocked, knowing how Adi had gotten mad at her when she tried to talk to Misha one time.

"I had confronted her because I wanted to know the reason why she is behaving like this. She didn't say anything at first but when I didn't budge she said that she likes to be my best friend since the beginning, but over the years, she doesn't want to continue the friendship which I understand that the feelings of people can change over the time.

"But when I ask her that she could've told me about it, I would've understood, and I think that angered her because you will not believe what she said. She said that she had a crush on Aarav, but Aarav was always close to me. And she knows that I like Aarav after I had told her two years before and just because of that, she had gotten jealous that how can I get good marks and then, get a guy which she didn't.

And that is the reason why she stayed with me to never let me do something that would benefit me. She had just pretended to be my friend for the last two years. And it is not like Aarav wouldn't have been her friend even if she wouldn't have stayed my friend. Huh, but let's forget about all that, it is too complicated."

I nod, trying to process all this in my mind.

"Now come on, show me yours and Jay's photos," she demands making me roll my eyes.

I take out my phone and show her the photos.

"You two looks so cute," she gushes, making me smile.
