The rest of the week came and went. It was mostly uneventful, unlike my first day of lessons. Draco had completely stopped talking to me and so had the whole of Slytherin house, even Pansy. It was like she would do anything for him even though he couldn't care less for her. Every now and again I would catch Draco staring at me from across the classroom, the great hall and even the common room. It was kinda weird. It's like he wants to talk to me, but at the same time he wants to shove me down the stairs. It felt awful having people who I thought were my friends completely cut themselves off from me, I would have felt so alone if I didn't have the trio.
Over the past week we had gotten closer to each other and I was so thankful that they're my friends. I had also gotten closer to Fred and George over the past week, I felt like I may be closer to them than the trio, though I didn't want to tell them that. They always managed to cheer me up and make me forget that the whole of Slytherin was ignoring me all because of Draco, it's like because of his name and his families status they would do anything for him, it's pathetic.

Today was the last day students could put their name into the goblet of fire and the trio invited me to sit in the great hall to see he would put their names in. They even said there's gonna be a "surprise".
Me and Hermione sat on a bench to the side of the dimly lit room. She was sat to the left of me reading a random book she got from the library, she was so deep in the book she didn't even move her head to look up at a group of boys egging on one of their friends to put their name in, "come on Cedric!" on boy spoke as another two pushed him towards the goblet saying "get it in!".
A tall boy in Hufflepuff with floppy hair that was wet from the rain outside stepped into the age line. He clasped a small piece of paper between his fingers and raised his hand dropping it into the blue flames. The whole room clapped as he stepped back and jumped into the group of his friends, smiling from ear to ear.
I saw Ron give the Cedric boy a small wave but he suddenly stopped when he realised that he had been ignored. Him and Harry started walking over towards me and Hermione, "eternal glory. Brilliant wouldn't it, three years from now when we're old enough to be chosen." Ron said looking up at the goblet, "yeah, rather you than me." Harry said with a half-suppressed laugh.
All of a sudden, I heard a loud laugh followed by cheers as Fred and George ran into the room holding small vials of a yellow liquid. "thank you, thank you! Well lads we've done it!" George said as he high-fived a small groups of Gryffindor students, "cooked it up just this morning!" Fred added. "It's not going to work" Hermione sang. "Oh yeah? And why's that Granger?" Fred proclaimed. "You see this? This is an age line. Dumbledore drew it himself" Hermione pointed at the age line, circling it. "So?" Fred responded. Hermione sighed and closed her book, placing it on her lap, "so a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by something pathetically
dim-witted such as an age potion.". "Ah, but that's why it's so brilliant!" Fred said, "because it's so pathetically dim-witted" George continued as they both stood up.
"Is this the surprise you told me about? I giggled as I leaned into Hermione, "yeah it is, you watch, it'll go horribly wrong." she whispered as she shook her head and opened her book to carry on reading. "Don't listen to her y/n! It'll work! Ready Fred?" George said stepping on the bench next to me, "ready George!" Fred said stepping up next to his brother. "bottoms up!" they both said in sync as they popped open their vials and drank the yellow potion.
They jumped off the bench into the age line. The whole crowd of students cheered as nothing happened, "yeahh" the twins cheered as they waved their hands in the air running around the goblet. They both took out pieces of paper from their trouser pockets and leaned up to put it in the flickering fire. "Ready!" they said together and dropped their names into the goblet. "Yess!" they high-fived each other and the crowd began to cheer.
Suddenly, flames burst out of the goblet and hit the twins' chest and they went flying back. The flames that hit them had sped the potion up, turning them into old men. "you said! You said!" they both yelled at each other and started to scrap, the whole crowd of students started chanting fight and clapping their hands in rhythm. I started laughing and skipped over to the boys and helped them up, "stop fighting you prats!" I said trying to sound stern but just burst out in laughter again. All the students stopped clapping and turned to face the door to whoever walked in.
Marching through the doors came the one and only Viktor Krum, followed by one of his friends and his headmaster. He strode up to the goblet with confidence dripping off his body, his eyes not breaking contact with the blue inferno coming from the goblet. As he put his name in the flames, I saw him glance over to Hermione making her lips curl into a small smirk.
"Hey y/n!" Hermione waved me back over to the bench. "yeah Hermione, what's up?" I said as I walked over to her. "Oh, I was just wondering if you wanted to come to the library with me so you can start your assignment." she replied as she stood up, holding her book under her arm. "yeah, sure why not. I bet nobody except you has even started it yet." I giggled nudging her arm as we started to walk to the library.

We arrived at the library and sat down next to a window between two large bookshelves. "Right, I'll go get the book on Salazars family tree and you can start there seen as it's the only book and other students will try and get it." Hermione said as she hurried away. I reached in my bag to get my parchment and quill when I realised, I had forgot my ink. "Got it!" a book slammed down in front of me as Hermione sat in her chair to my right, "hey, you got any ink?" I asked as I moved the huge book off my parchment. "oh, no I don't sorry. But if you ask Madam Pince she can lend you some." she said opening the large book to browse Salazars descendants.
I went off looking for Madam Pince, quickly glancing down each aisle until I found her telling off a student for eating in "her" library. "Excuse me Madam Pince?" I asked hesitantly. The thin and rather irritable-looking woman turned to face me, "yes, what do you want?" she answered impatiently. "oh, I was wondering if I could borrow some ink for my assignment Professor Binns gave me." I inquired, trying my best to sound urgent. "hmm. Yes, fine. You may have some" she said as she pulled a small jar of ink out of her black cloak, "-but if you get such as a drop of ink on any book in here your punishment will be severe!" she warned me as I took the jar out of her hand. "Thank you." I said rushing away from the rather scary woman.
"Hey I'm back!" I smiled at Hermione as I sat down in my chair. She seemed to be on the last page of the book when she suddenly sat up and her jaw dropped, "what's wrong?" I asked with a quirked brow. She looked at me with pure shock plastered all over of her face, "erm... Do you remember your dads' name?" she said looking back at the book. "It's Alaric, why?" "well, because your name is under someone called 'Alaric Gaunt'. Is that your dad?" she asked me as she turned the book for me to look.
My eyes widened and I felt a chill go down my spine. There it was, plain as daylight 'y/n y/l/n'. Right under my fathers, how did I not know he was a Gaunt. "He's Tom Riddles brother!" Hermione exclaimed pointing to the line which connected my father and the dark lords. "Wait! I'm related to you-know-who!" I gasped. My body felt numb. I was a descendent of Salazar Slytherin and Voldemorts niece!
