We arrived at the great hall and was immediately greeted by Hermione waving her hand for me and the twins to come over. As we got closer to the trio, I could see Harry and Rons facial expressions more clearly and they didn’t look too pleased to see me. “Hey y/n I hope you don’t mind but I told Harry and Ron about what we’ve found out about your family relations. I just thought that you wouldn’t want to explain it twice.” Hermione explained as she glanced to the twins and back to the two boys across the table. “Oh, thank you Hermione, really. I was kinda dreading telling them about it.” I leant over and whispered in her ear with a hint relief in my voice.

“Oh, an owl came by earlier and left a letter on the Slytherin table but you weren’t here so a first year who has seen you hang around with us handed it to Harry and me.” Ron said as he handed me a letter over the table. “It has the Ministry of Magics seal on, what's that all about?” Harry added while looking at the letter in my hand. “Oh, it must be from my godfather then if it has their seal.” I pointed out as I put the letter in a pocket at the front of my bag.

“Who’s your godfather? If you don’t mind me asking, it’s just because our dad might know him.” Ron asked while nodding at his brothers as he finished his sentence. “Oh, no, I don’t think your dad will know him.” I said with a small giggle which made him confused. “I’m joking. Your dad will definitely know him. His name is Cornelius.” I smirked as I saw his jaw drop and eyes widen. “Your godfather is the Minister of Magic, like, the Minister of Magic? Ron said with shock in his voice. “Yeah, he is.” I smiled at him but my smile was soon wiped off my face when Harry looked towards the door and rolled his eyes.

I was confused at Harrys reaction until I turned my head and saw Draco walking towards us. “Why’s that prat coming over here.” Ron whispered to the group not taking an eye off the blonde who was making his way over to us. “Ey up, I bet he’s coming for you love.” Fred elbowed me and chuckled making George laugh at his little comment. I groaned at his words and rubbed my ribs where he elbowed me. “Shut up Fredrick!” I narrowed my eyes at him trying to look threatening but he wasn’t fazed by it, if anything it made him laugh even more.

I rolled my eyes at him and didn’t even realise Draco was stood right behind me. “Can we talk?” Draco asked as he put his hand on my shoulder making me flinch at his touch. “Erm, yeah.” I said hesitantly but grabbed my bag and followed Draco out the great hall and to the Slytherin common room.

We didn’t speak at all on our way to the common room. It felt so awkward. Especially because of what happened out in the courtyard and I have a feeling that’s what he wants to talk about.

We walked into the common room and saw a bunch of students scattered around in groups, some studying, some reading and others just chatting to each other. But they all stopped and started to stare at me when they noticed that I had walked in with Draco. “Let’s talk in your room, it’ll be more private.” He whispered to me so none of the students in the common room could hear.

I opened my door and Draco barged past me into my room. “Close the door.” He snapped. His change in demeanour shocked me at how fast he had gone from quiet and mysterious to angry and impatient in a matter of seconds but I did as he said and closed the door before he could snap at me again and sat on the end of my bed.

He started to pace back and forth in front of me before he came to a halt, staring out the window into the black lake. “What was that earlier?” He broke the silence and turned to face me. “What?” I replied, confused by his question. “Earlier, under the tree. What was that about?” He said as he stepped in front of me.

He looked down at me with his brows knitted. “I don’t know. All I really know is that you pissed me off and I threatened you, then it seemed like you were going to kiss me before the Weasley twins interrupted whatever was going on.” I sighed. “Kiss you? You’re joking!” he retorted as he turned to look out the window. “Well, that’s what it seemed like from my point of view. I mean you did look down at my lips and started to move your face closer to mine!” I said while shuffling on my bed to get comfier.

He kept silent while looking out into the lake, I could see his eyes watching a few fish swim around the seaweed just outside the window. “If anything, I should be asking you what happened seen as you hate me.” I blurted out but the end of the sentence came out as a whisper. “I never said I hated you.” He said as he walked back over to me. “But you just stopped talking to me and started to be an asshole for no reason whatsoever.” I mumbled while looking into his grey eyes. He seemed sad at what I said. “I only did it because you started hanging around with Potter and that filthy little mudblood. You're a Slytherin. You're not supposed to be friends with mudbloods.” he hissed at me and threw his hands up.

There was that word again. Mudblood. It made me feel sick. To call or describe someone just by their blood status, no matter if they’re an amazing witch or wizard or if they’re terrible at magic. Your blood status doesn’t define you and nor should it. But I guess some people have been brought up to despise those who have “tainted” blood just like Draco has.

I stood up from my bed and pushed him back, making him stumble. “What was that for?” He shouted as he regained his balance. “Stop calling her that! Blood status shouldn’t matter! Yes, she is muggle born but you have to be blind to not see that she is the best witch in our year!” I growled at him pushing him against the wall. “and so what if I'm hanging around with them, they were the first friends I made.” I continued.

I didn’t realise how close I was to him until he started to smile and look me up and down. “I guess I could stop ignoring you.” He said with a sly smile creeping onto his face. He took a step towards me and I took one back. He could see how nervous he made me and was using that against me.

He kept taking steps towards me and I kept taking steps back. I felt the bed behind my legs but Draco didn’t stop. I fell backwards onto my bed and he leant over me, his arms either side of my head propping himself up. I could feel the warmth of his body on mine, our torsos just inches apart. I felt my breath quicken at the realisation that he is essentially pinning me down on my bed.

I felt him lower his body onto mine, making my breath hitch and causing our eyes to meet. He knew exactly what he was doing to me and he enjoyed every minute of it. “What’s wrong y/n?” He leant down and whispered, his lips grazing my ear which made me shiver and let out a small moan. He brought his face back in front of mine and started to smirk. He bit his lip and pushed his body more onto mine making my breathing heavier. He lowered his face and our lips brushed against each other. Then he kissed me and I immediately kissed back, I felt a smile form on his lips as and our kiss deepened. A small groan escaped his lips and his hands found their way to mine. He pinned them above my head and continued to kiss me. The kiss became rougher and our breathing got heavier.

He pulled his face away and loosened his grip on my wrists, our faces were flushed and our breathing was still heavy. “I see you enjoyed that.” he grinned as he got off me and stood up. “I...er..” I tried to talk but I was lost for words, I wasn’t expecting that to happen at all. “Well, I’m glad to know I have that effect on you.” He said with a wink as he opened the door and left.

I just sat there on my bed speechless, still trying to figure out what just happened. I glanced over to my door that Draco had just left from and saw my bag on the floor next to it and remembered I have a letter from my godfather to read. I’m just wondering what’s the reason for him to write to me.
