Chloé looked at Marinette, then at Alya.
Then she did something that even surprised herself.
She extended her free hand to Marinette. Mari stared at her as if she was being offered a dish she was allergic to. The bluenette stared a little longer and took her hand.
As soon as she got up, Chloé pulled her into a hug.
Marinette was confused. She thought she should check over her shoulder for a chainsaw, but decided not to.
"I-I'm sorry," Chloé cried into her shoulder. "So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so," she paused for breath, "So sorry."
When Marinette said nothing, she added, "You don't have to forgive me."
