The alarm on my phone woke me
I got up and did the basics of getting ready for school
Once I grabbed my things I was heading out the door
"Shelby" my mom called causing me to turn away
I was trying to get out of there before seeing my mom because i'm still a little weird about her knowing
"Yes mommy?" I asked
"Your lunch money" she said pointing to the money on the counter
"Oh right, thank you mommy" I said walking over to the counter and taking the money
"Bye love you, have a great day" my mom called out
"I love you too, and you too" I responded walking out

I walked my first block and sat beside Fatin like normally
As soon as I sat down Fatin immediately said "spill everything, did you and your mom speak?" she asked
"Yeah, we ain't say much she just talked how she believes love is love, but my daddy has a different belief and will totally freak out if he found out" I summarized me and my mom's conversation yesterday
"Is she going to tell him?" She asked looking extremely interested
I chuckled a little... "Lord you are very interested in this" I said
"Girl yes I'm bored, there haven't been no drama lately" she responded
"True, but no she's not going to tell him" I responded
"That's good, so what's this mean for you and Toni?" She asked
"It means me and Toni will be together" I said smiling
"Does that mean since your mom knows you will come out to your friends?" She asked
I shook my head slowly... "I know my mom knows and all, but I'm just not ready, I'm still having a hard time with you and my mom knowing" I said
"Is Toni okay with that?" She asked
I shrugged... "I think so" I said dropping my head

After a long school day, I was finally home
Me and Toni walked inside my house and my mom greeted us
"How was school sweetheart?" She asked hugging me
"It was fine" I said shrugging
"What about your day Toni?" She asked looking at Toni
"Um, it was Ight I guess, what about you? How was your day?" Toni asked
"It was fine thanks for asking, but anyways you can start down here and work your way up upstairs" my mom spoke
Toni nodded
"Alright then, I'll be in my room doing work if you need me, and Shelby don't be bothering her while she's working" my mom said before walking off
