Toni pov

I heard a knock on the door I knew it was Shelby and her siblings, so I went to go open the door

"Hey guys, I'm just finna grab the ball and we can go to the park" I said leaving the door open for them

I went to my room and grabbed my ball

"Okay y'all ready to go?" I asked walking toward Shelby, Melody, and Spencer

"Do you live here by yourself?" Melody asked

"Um, yeah I do" I responded

"Where's your parents?" She asked

"Mel" Shelby said trying to get her to stop asking questions

She looked at Shelby confused

"It's okay" I reassured Shelby

I looked at Melody

"I don't know where my mom at, she left, and I never really knew my dad, he left when I was still in my mommy stomach" I answered

"Why?" She asked

"Mel" Shelby said again

"What? I'm curious" Melody responded

"Just because you're curious doesn't mean you ask questions like that, it's not polite" Spencer chime in

"It's okay guys" I said

I looked at Melody again "I don't know why they left" I responded

"Oh, and sorry if I wasn't polite, I didn't know I wasn't suppose to ask questions" she said

"It's okay" I said with a small smile

It was an awkward moment of silence before I broke it

"So, that's enough of my sob story, let's go play some ball" I said

"Yes" Spencer responded

At the park

I bounce the ball between my legs, step backed and let the ball go letting it hit nothing but net

"You're going to teach me how to do that?" Spencer asked looking excited

"Sure buddy" I ran and got the rebound and passed it to him

"Lemme see you put it under your leg" I said

He held a leg up and bounced it under his leg

I shook my head

"No, your feet got to stay on the ground" I said

"I'm trying, I can't" she said

I held both of my hands out and he passed me the ball

"Look watch this" I said

I got the ball and bounced it between my legs again

"See you put one of your legs in front of the other, spread them a little, then take the ball and bounce it in between with one hand and then catch it with the other hand" I explained

After four tries he finally got it

"See wasn't so hard was it?" I asked smiling feeling proud

"No I finally got the hang of it" he said doing it again

"I see that, now let's teach you how to shoot" I responded

"That part should be easy" he threw the ball up doing some weird stand and missed
