After you managed to beat the local gym leader, you got a call from Serena to meet her at a hotel

The two of you agreed that it would be best to spend the night in this place before continuing your journey. You got caught up in your own business while she made the arrangements

As you walked down the hall, you found the room she told you was yours. It was a nice room, with plenty of space for the two of you and this welcoming feeling to it that just invited you to rest

But what caught your attention the most was the balcony. Not only were the doors open, but there was also a certain someone in there, looking over the city

You entered the room and placed your bag on a chair nearby as you walked towards the blonde, who looked back at you with a smile

"I'm sorry. It took longer than I expected"

"What matters is that you made it"

Then, she motioned you to join her, which you did without a second thought

As you entered this small area, you felt the fresh air of the city greeting you once again, but this time, it was accompanied by all the lights the city had to offer, all those colors and buildings working in harmony

And in the distance, you could even see the tower. It was hard not to look at this view with a closed mouth

"It's breathtaking, isn't it?"

Serena finally spoke, looking away for a brief second to look at you with a tender smile. She looked calm, much more relaxed than how she usually is

This balcony was working wonders for the two of you

You nodded as you walked closer to her

"Yes, it's not often that you get a view like this"

She nodded too before she returned her gaze to the city

"Agreed. It kind of helps me think too"

This caught your attention. It wasn't often that she talked about what's in her mind

"Oh? About what?"

"Well...It wasn't long ago that our rivalry started"

"Or the romance"

She giggled when she felt you wrap your arms around her

"Yes, that too"

She leaned back so that she could feel your embrace a little better

"If I'm honest with you, I don't think there is anyone else I'd rather do this with. Whether that's being a rival to push me to be better..."

Then, you felt her hand intertwining with yours. This made you meet her eyes

"Or trusting my heart to someone that already sees me as something better than what I already am"

Without thinking it twice, Serena leaned in for a quick peck on the lips followed by one of her warmest smiles

"Thank you, mon coeur"
