Legolas POV~

"We will be leaving soon," I approached Emerin after the counsel,

"Yes, I must go and change into a more fitting attire. I cannot go running into Mordor in a dress." She motioned towards her dark green dress,

"I can walk you to your room, if you wish. Mine is right beside it." I tried to give her my most charming smile,

"Well then come along. We have no time to waste!" She broke off into a sprint,

"You won't beat me again!" I warned as I ran behind her. As I was passing by her, I lifted her off of the ground, startling her, and continued running,

"You only won because my dress makes it difficult to run." She laughed, "Now put me down, I must get ready, as do you."

I settled her down, and opened her door for her, "My Lady,"

She laughed and closed the door behind her.

Emerin POV~

I closed the door behind me. Quickly I threw off my cloak and dress and walked into the bathroom. I combed through my long hair and drew a bath. As I sat in the warm water, I thought of how it would be a long time before I could relax again. I washed through my hair, making sure that it was thoroughly clean before stepping out of the water. I patted myself dry, and put on my robe. I slathered oils onto my skin, and a small spritz of perfume. Elrond had provided us with fitting clothes for our journey. Mine was consisted of dark green pants, with a dark green tunic that split into two at the bottom of my waist, opening in front of my legs, and ending at my knees. It had a pale green embroidery around the collar. I strapped my belt around my waist, put on my wrist guards that were made of leather with similar embroidery. I sheathed my light sword, attaching it to my belt, along with my twin daggers. I strapped my quiver on, along with my graceful bow. I pulled on my boots, and stood in front of the mirror. It was very similar to my old uniform from when I was a part of the Mirkwood guard, except more elegant and form fitting.   I braided my hair half up, half down, letting it flow down below my waist.

I walked towards the door, and opened it to find Legolas there, also in his new clothes.

Legolas POV~

Just as I was leaving my room, Emerin opened her door. Her new clothes suited her, seeming to have been made specifically with her in mind. She looked elegant... almost regal,

"Y-you look...nice" Really? Nice! How about jaw dropping.

"Thank you, as do you," She started walking, with me trailing behind. I remember when it was the other way around. Except back then it was her job to make sure nothing happened to me.

We were now outside. I could see a few others waiting for the rest of the fellowship to arrive. I slid my hand into Emerin's, "I wish you wouldn't come. Not that I don't want you to be with me, it's just, who knows when you're going to attach me to something and run off putting your life endanger for me." I said, hinting to the time she had rendered me useless by tying me to a dagger that was lodged into a mountain so that I couldn't help her fight an orc,

"Well that's exactly why I have to come along. I can't have you getting yourself killed, en melleth." She stopped when she realized what she had just said,

"I did not know you still loved me..." I looked at her,

"You know an Elf can only have true love once in their life. You do not stop loving someone because of the years you spent apart." She looked into my eyes with a genuine expression.

"Im melleth le."(I love you) She was so close to me, that I could've counted her eyelashes. Before I could respond, she turned and walked towards the fellowship, who were oblivious to what just happened.

Emerin POV~

We had been journeying for hours now, and had stopped at the top of a hill. I could not stop thinking of the moments that Legolas and I had shared before we set off. The two younger hobbits, who I came to know as Merry and Pippin, were having a sword fight with Boromir. I skipped from rock to rock, until I was beside Legolas at the high point. I heard the voices behind us speaking and looked to see...

"Crebain from Dunland!" Legolas shouted for everyone to hear,

"Hide!" Aragorn cried.

Legolas grabbed my forearm and took me behind a large boulder. I gave him a look trying to tell him that I was capable of finding my own hiding spot. The birds flew past us. We all stood up, coming out from our hiding places,

"Spies of Saruman." Gandalf looked at the now far way birds, "The passage south is being watched. We must take the pass of Caradhras."

~~

We were walking up the snowy mountain, everyone else was inking into the snow besides Legolas and I. Elves tend to defy gravity at times. As we were walking, Frodo fell down, into the snow. Aragorn caught him. Frodo went to feel for the ring that he was wearing on a chain as a necklace. Boromir picked up the ring that was laying in the snow and looked at it, as if in a trance

"Boromir!" Aragorn called out to him,

"It is a strange fate that we should suffer such fear and doubt over so small a thing... such a little thing." He would not look away from the ring,

"Boromir!" Aragorn pulled him out of his trance, "Give the ring to Frodo,"

Boromir walked towards Frodo, "As you wish,"

Frodo grabbed the ring,

"I care not." He ruffled Frodos hair and walked away.

~~

We were now walking on the edge of a cliff. Snow pelted down on us. Legolas and I were at the front, not as affected by the deep snow. I heard a faint voice. Legolas must've heard it too, because he said,

"There is a fell voice on the air!"

"It's Saruman!" Gandalf yelled,

Rocks started to fall down, nearly crushing a few of the others,

"He's trying to bring down the mountain. Gandalf, we must go back!" Aragorn tried to reason,

"No!" Gandalf responded and began to chant a spell.

All of a sudden, a lightening bolt struck the top of the mountain, causing snow to plummet down towards us...

Legolas POV~

Snow had covered all of us. I was the first one to come out. Slowly, everyone else came out as well. Everyone besides Emerin. While everyone else seemed to be talking about where we should go, but I didn't pay any attention to them,

"Emerin!" I shouted. I shouldn't have let her come. "Emerin, where are you?" Did no one else pay attention to anything besides themselves? I pushed throughout the snow, trying to feel around to see where Emerin was. All of a sudden I was pushed forward by something,

"You really don't think I can take care of myself do you?" Emerin stood there, arms crossed,

"Legolas, Emerin, we are going to the Mines of Moria!" Gimli called out to us. Gandalf didn't seem happy about this.
