"parting is such sweet
sorrow that i shall say
goodnight till it be morrow,"
y/n says out loud reading romeo
and juliet.

kita y/n never really thought
she could love anyone else but
Akaashi Keiji.

But was she really ever his?

Was he just a lesson and/or
blessing?

----

I've been in love with Akaashi
since the day I've met him. I
moved to Tokyo from Hyogo,
when I was 8 years old. I had a
few friends there but I don't
remember much from them.
The only person I remember
was my cousin Shinsuke.

I remember moving into my
new house, the walls were
painted light gray. The aroma
of arm vanilla in the air.

Knocking at the door from the
neighbours who wanted to meet
you.

That's when you met him.
Akaashi Keiji.

Him in a light blue shirt and
black shorts, playing with
his fingers.

his blue eyes staring into
mine. he was like home.

———

when we were 13 i told him
i liked him. how couldn't i?
he's perfect, everyone loves
him.

y/n
hey akaashi

akaashi
hey y/n want to practice
volleyball at the park?

y/n
i'll be the best wing spiker
and you will be the best setter.

akaashi
and we will be together

y/n
yeah, because i like you

he jokingly throws the
volleyball he was holding
at my face

akaashi
yeah i know sugar, it's
pretty obvious

y/n
if this is your way of
rejec-

akaashi
i like you too

pulling me into a hug and
kissing my forehead.

y/n
so what now?

akaashi
be my wing spiker to
my setter

y/n
you're so weird

we laugh

y/n
i would love to

———

everyone loves akaashi,
when shin came to visit
he also loved him.

they would talk about
romeo and juliet. it was
our all time favourite book.

it does get quite boring at
times, but i always loved the
concept of them falling in love
with the enemy.

i hoped that in another
universe i'll be running
down stairs of a castle,
in a ballgown.

i remember the wind
kissing our face while
we played volleyball.

i was on the female
team while he was on
the boys. I had so much
potential in volleyball,
and i wanted to have it
as a career.

akaashi was always
supportive of me. it
was vise versa.

———

we've been dating since
third year of junior high.
we were now in second of
high school, and i find it
so crazy how fast time goes.

he was over at my house to
sleep over. of course it was
allowed and he did live next
door.

akaashi
sugar, want to cook something?

it was 10 pm, i nod

y/n
i say we make onigiri

akaashi
me too

we smile heading to my
kitchen. akaashi measures
the rice before passing it
to me to wash it. he knows
how much i love cooking as
a hobby.

while rice was cooking we made
the filling, i had my favourite tuna
filling done.

he was reading a new book
i had bought him a few days
ago. we had had a bookstore
date.

i stare at him while he reads,
it's a habit of mine, but who
wouldn't he is a beautiful man.

akaashi and i were quite
opposite, we laughed at
that thought a lot. we
balanced each other
out like a ying yang.

letting the rice cool
down before i started
moulding everything.

———

i was deep in thought while
making the onigiri. i realized
how much potential i have in
volleyball. what was i going to
do when i travelled the world
for games? would he come?

the amount of love i have
for volleyball was abnormal.
i even got asked to play for the
youth japan team. i accept it
of course, my family was so
happy for me.

even now when i had to travel
for games it was hard to be away
from akaashi.

i look down to see i had no more
rice and filling. akaashi wrapping
his arms around my torso.

akaashi
you were so deep in thought
that you didn't even notice how
you finished.

he laughs, it was like
music to my ears. i could
listen for days.

i turn around and hug him
trying to not get my hands to
touch him, and get him dirty.

akaashi
we start second year soon

y/n
fukurodani isn't ready for
us.
