LYRA was having the time of her life as she watched Tony speak to DUM-E and Jarvis about making a new suit for Lyra since she had brought it to his attention that she wanted to go back to work. It was the day after Tony had officially and awkwardly asked Lyra to marry him. Tony Stark had never been too good at sharing his feelings, so after stammering and stumbling over his words as Lyra ate her large burger peacefully, he had brought up the fact that that was the place of their first date in 2002. Lyra instantly knew something was wrong—but it was not wrong at all.

She smiled as she twisted the ring on her finger, already having called Pepper to tell her about it. It was all over the news since someone had taken their photo in the restaurant. She was called by all of her friends to confirm it, and she had never felt more loved by those around her.

"Do I need to put the DUNCE hat back on you?" Tony called to his robot. "Jarvis, how are we looking?"

Lyra stood, her face stuck in a permanent smile as she neared him. She wrapped her arms around his waist, placing her head on his chin as she looked at what he was typing on his computer. "Whatcha doing?" she asked in a sing-song voice.

He smirked. "Trying to find an easier way to get your suit to form without taking so much time to set it in the beads."

"The beads work."

"You lost the last beads in the water," Tony deadpanned.

"Bad luck. It's always worked before," Lyra complained. "Hey, is Happy flying out to us, or are we going to visit him?"

Tony snorted. "Happy told me to stay here. When he is fit enough, Rhodey will bring him here."

"Hmm," she hummed, pinching his side. "I'm going to cook something. Let's not play down here all night, Tone."

Tony turned to smile at her before placing a kiss on her lips. "Yes, honey, I'll be up in a little bit."

Lyra grinned as she walked to the elevator to bring her up to the penthouse where she would find the kitchen. It was like that for days. Tony would tinker for a while in his new lab until he knew he was there too often. He and Lyra would always eat together, watch movies, and they were sleeping in the same bed almost normally. Of course, there were a few nightmares here and there, but for the most part, they had moved past the Chitauri army and Killian.

After two months of Lyra helping Tony with odd jobs that Pepper had brought to his attention, Lyra finally called Nick Fury to let him know she was ready to work again. It was Nick Fury who denied her.

She furrowed her brows at the word, "No," from Fury's lips. She had no idea what was happening, but she had asked him to fill her in on what was going on. All Nick Fury said—out of breath and angry—was to get in touch with Steve in a few hours.

Tony shrugged from his spot on the bed that night. "Maybe there is something dangerous going on that he's trying to protect you from since, you know, Killian tested weird shit on you?" he said rhetorically. Lyra glared at him, but she knew he was probably right.
