If you don't build your dreams, someone will hire you to help build theirs ~ Tony Gaskin

Hillary was already waiting for me at the reception when I stepped in the building. Which I was glad, the receptionist always had something up her ass all the time. She would give me this harsh look every time I walked into the building. We were having the meeting at her office to go through the contracts. The smile on Hillary's face shone with pride and I couldn't believe that I was the reason for that.

I took a seat opposite Hillary just like I had the first time I was there. Before her was a stuck of papers with the name of the series written on top. This was my first major role and I had no idea how to go about it. Back at home all I did was mere theatre acts but I poured all my sweat in them together with small roles in not so big TV shows.

Hillary cleared her throat catching my attention. "So, Ayana Martins, my soon to be superstar. Here is the contract for 'Life of Jennie'. We have had our lawyer go through it first and the terms are very favourable." she informed me passing me the contract, "You will be needed on set from Monday to Friday from 8 to around six in the evening depending on the acts for the day. Since you don't have such a major role there will be days you won't be needed on set. You will discuss that with the producer on Monday. Go home with that contract, go through it properly before you sign it then return it to me tomorrow."

I pursed my lips as I nodded. "I can't thank you enough Hill. I wouldn't have this contract in my hand if wasn't for you. I promise to work extra hard on this." I assured her beaming.

"I believe in you Ayana. You are already stirring up gossip in the industry. People want to know who is this new face in such a big and awaited series. Remember on Saturday you have the reveal party make sure to bring me that contract before then. You are going to be a phenomenal actress." Hillary chimed as she stood from her seat.

Assuming the meeting was over, I stood as well. Just as we were about to leave the office, Rosette walked in. She engulfed me in a tight hug, kissing my cheek as she let me go.

"I just heard the good news Ayana. Your mum must be so proud." She beamed pulling in for another hug, "You have done us proud. On your first audition and you landed a role in one of the most awaited movie. Great job Ayana."

I pulled away slightly from the embrace. "Thank you, Rosette. None of this would have happened without you help."

I excused myself as Hillary and Rosette began chatting amongst themselves. I couldn't hide my excitement and it seemed through my big smile and beaming eyes. Kaili was already waiting for me at the parking lot to drive us back home. She had a makeup gig in the morning just near the agency which made it easier for the both of us. We picked up Bailey on our way to the apartment.

On the way home, I texted my friends the good news and planned a facetime for when I got home. Luckily, they all confirmed. With the time differences it was hard to get a time when they were all available to talk together. The last thing I wanted was for us to grow apart, which seemed impossible but I was willing to make the long-distance friendship work even with our busy schedules.

I disappeared to my room the minute I got home already dialling my friends' numbers. It was almost time for work and I really wanted to talk to them before I left. One by one the received the call and appeared on the screen. Mia was seated on her living room sofa with a cup of coffee which I was sure had a little bit of whiskey in it, she was always quite a drinker. Hazel was still in bed but looked like she had been up for a while but was just lazing inside her blankets. And Gemma was doing her makeup already dressed to leave. She got a good job at a company she always wanted to work in thus the dress up and makeup done so early.
