Julie reaches the kitchen quikly, placing her backpack on the stool under the island. She expected to find Carlos eating his breakfast, but there is only Ray, staring at the computer screen.
<Dad? What are you looking at?>
Ray's gaze is lost, he seems completely captured by the video he's watching. He doesn't even notice his daughter's question, who is watching him curiously.
Behind the man appears Raggie, who smiles brightly. <Us!> he says <He is looking at us!>.

The boys appear right beside him and Luke whistles in excitement. He and Raggie smile at each other and Alex looks at them amused, still unconvinced of the importance of Ray's vote.

<Julie? Can I ask you a question?> Ray's voice jolts all three of them and Julie included, but she's the first to recover. <Yeah, sure. Tell me>
Her father gives her a look and clears his throat before starting to speak <How well do you know these guys in the band?>

Luke, Alex and Raggie turn to Julie, crossing their arms at the exact same time. She tries to keep herself from laughing. <Well... let's just say I'm getting to know them> unintentionally, she crosses Luke's gaze and they both risk blushing.

<But why do you ask?>
<No, nothing, it's just... Forget it, it's nothing important>
<Come on dad, tell me, I thought you liked them..>
<Yeah, yeah, I do> Ray runs a hand through his hair, overthinking <especially Reggie. Don't tell him but.. that boy knows exactly how to play a bass. He's definitely my favourite!>

Reggie wipes away the lone tear that has come to wet his cheek. <Oh Ray! I knew our friendship worked. I said it, didn't I told you Alex?>
<Yeah man, I think you're right. In fact, I think you've just gained a fan>

<Julie!> Luke looks at her impatiently, as always. <Ask him what he thinks of us, go ahead>
<Luke, I wouldn't do that if I were you. There are things you don't want to know, I..>
<Come on, Alex. Stop being so anxious>
Julie listens the conversation amused, but decides satisfy Luke’s request.

<What about the other two? What do you think of them? >
Ray becomes indecipherable again, as if an uncomfortable thought has intruded into his mind. <The blond, the drummer, I like him. He seems nice. The other one...>

<The other what?!> Luke looks astonished, he spreading his arms wide and putting on a sullen look. This time even Julie is confused. <What's wrong with Luke?>
<I told you not to ask! I overheard a conversation between him and Tia where he told her that..>

<He likes you too much. I've seen the way he looks at you when you're singing, the connection is obvious even to an old man like me!>
<This. This is why I didn't want you to ask. You could have saved yourselves a terrible scene and us your embarrassed faces>
<I...Dad, I > Julie doesn't know what to answer, she tries all her bet not to look at Luke.

The situation gets worse when Ray starts talking again.
<I didn't think you liked boys so..>
<Dead? > Reggie suggests to him. Alex starts laughing immediatly and Luke slaps the back of his head.
<...muscular> Ray says. He lets out a sigh and slowly closes the laptop.

<Julie, you know I love you, but I really don't think I'm ready to talk about...boys.> Ray tries to capture his daughter's reaction, tries to figure out how to act.

Julie recovers from the strange coma-like state she's been in without realizing it <Dad, I swear there's nothing to talk about. Luke and I are just friends.>

After saying that, Julie hears the familiar sound of the boys vanishing.
For a moment, she fears she said the wrong thing, but she wouldn't know what else to do.

They have just started touching each other and things have already gotten weird.

Hi everyone!
That's a new story I'm working on. I'm a big fan of the serie and just want a season 2 so bad that I decided to write it myself.
