Whitey Epilogue

Three years later
I'm standing in the kitchen finishing of making pancakes for my family of three I place the plates on the table
Lucas comes running through from his bedroom and sits at the table immediately eating I chuckle

"Make sure you chew your food you don't want to choke on your first day at school"I brush the hair out of his face
"Okay mama"he smiles at me with his mouth full I shake my head and walk back into the kitchen

"Just like your father"I mumble under my breath
"What's just like me?"I turn around to see Whitey holding Ella our one year old daughter
"Talking with your mouth full"I gently take Ella out of his hands
"Yeah you're probably right"I giggle and set Ella in her high chair

We're now walking up the school I'm holding Lucas's hand while Whitey holds Ella in his arms we stop outside the school i crouch down in front of Lucas

"You have a lovely first day at school Lucas we are so proud of you sweetie"I kiss all over his face he giggles
"Mama!"I laugh and stop I stand up and take Ella

"Have a good day at school bud"Whitey ruffles his hair
"Really Whitey? I just finished doing his hair"I fix his hair with one hand still holding Ella

"Sorry Love"Miss Dunne comes out of the school and calls on the children to come inside

"Bye mama bye dada!"Lucas waves
"Bye honey!"We watch as our son disappears into the school building
"One down one to go now,huh?"Whitey jokes I playfully roll my eyes as we walk back home

"I'll see you after work okay baby"
"Okay have a good day"he pecks my lips before walking away from his two girls
Ella smiles as I rub her cheek with my index finger

"I wonder when the last time that man had a wash"I whisperer to her as we walk into the Winn house

Two years later

I wake up to something shaking my arm I crack my eyes open slightly to see Ella
"Mama I'm scared"She whisperers
"What's wrong honey"I whisperer trying not to wake the sleeping Whitey next to me

"There's a monster under my bed"she hugs her small teddy tightly
"Okay honey let's go tell it to go away"I slowly stand up I pick her up and walk to hers and Lucas's joint room I sit her down on her bed

"Can you tell the monster to go away mama?"I smile
"Of course honey"I whisperer
I turn my head towards under the bed
"Monster you better leave Little Ella alone or you'll be in big trouble"I whisperer I look up at Ella
"See all gone there's nothing to worry about Honey"I put a strand of hair behind her ear
"Mama can you sing the lullaby?"Ella whisperers I start to whisperer sing

"Deep in the meadow, under the willow.
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow.

I smile at her and kiss her forehead

"Try get some sleep"she nods with her eyes close I quietly walk out the room leaving the door crack slightly open I walk back into mine and Whiteys room I lie back down

"Where'd you go to?"Whitey whisperers as he puts a arm around my waist holding my hand
"Ella thought there was a monster under the bed again"I whisperer back closing my eyes
"Hm"He kisses my cheek we both fall asleep in each other's arms
