Newts POV
When I died I got a choice to go to heaven or to stay here as a ghost and obviously I chose to stay as a ghost I mean there is someone I want to spend her whole lifetime with My girlfriend Y/n
since the day she came up in the god for saking box I knew I loved her and eventually she shared her love with me that was six years ago I can't believe time has went by so fast
It's been about three months since I died and I've been watching my girlfriend not in a creepy way like her every bloody move but just in general like what I used to do just check up on her
The sun was setting and I watched it till the sun disappears and the sky turned slightly dark I decide to go check up on Y/n
so I go to her house and go through the front door I hear sobs come from Y/n's room so I walk to her bedroom and find her lying on the bed holding the letter I gave her
"I should've been there with you..."She cried
"You don't deserve to be dead"She whimpered I say on the bed next to her looking down at her crying form
"I miss and love you so much My Newtie" She sobbed I felt tears fill my eyes I reach my index finger out and draw 'I' then a heart around it then I softly poke her where I drew the heart her sobs stop and she turned facing my way
"Newt? Are you here?"She mumbled "Knock on the wall once if you are"She instructed I knock on the wall beside her bed once
"Oh my god.."She whispered softly
"Uhm wait here just a sec"She got up and ran down the hall she came back about five minutes later with a small Machine She sat down on the bed
"Newt are you still here?"She asked I knocked on the wall again she smiled turning on the machine it made a bunch of different kind of noises
"This is called a spirt box you just speak into it and I'll be able to hear what your saying"She told me
"Try it out"I leaned into the machine
"Love you hear me?"I said it echoed into the spirt box Y/n's eyes started to well up "Yes I can hear you Newt"She sobbed happily
"I love you"I said It echoed again "I love you too Newt....why did you stay? As a ghost i mean"
"You"I simply reply
"Are you going to stay?" "Yes"I answer again
"You promise?"
"I promise"She smiled through her tears
And I kept my promise and stayed with her till her last day we spoke every night and I made sure she kept talking to the last few Gladers and keep a friend ship with them
Finally we were together and I finally got to hold her in my arms and we stayed together for our never ending journey
