WARNINGS: Past trauma, panic attack
I just thought y'all should know that the initial title for this was Jean Daddy; Jaddy, if you will. Anyways, I don't really like how canon (anime) portrays the internships soooo we're gonna pretend that Jeanist didn't just take the Bakugo at the Sports Fest at face value. In fact, scrap canon, I'm probably gonna end up rewriting my take on the internship eventually anyways, the only canon we need is the hero killer, and I'm pushing the time frame of that out to after the provisional license exams. I am their God now.

Katsuki thought it was safe to say, this week was going to shit. It had little to do with the internship itself; in fact, once Best Jeanist had realized that his actions had actual meanings behind them and he wasn't just brash to be brash, it went quite well. The two were semi familiar with each other, with Mitsuki and Masaru's fashion agency having worked closely enough with him that they had met in passing (and that he was quite familiar with Mitsuki, helpful since the two often operated on a similar wavelength), and in downtime he found it quite helpful to have Katsuki share his ideas on new designs (for a line working with the Bakugo's anyways). No, it was the internship as a whole. Specifically, the fact that he was living in his mentor's hero agency for the time, and couldn't allow himself to unwind in the same ways he did at home.

He didn't remember exactly when he started regressing, but his parents had known pretty much always and Izuku (and, in turn, Auntie Inko) had known since the Sludge Villain accident (when the greenette insisted on walking him home and he began regressing; Mitsuki had explained it all while Masaru helped calm him down). Then the "Bakusquad" learned shortly into living at the dorms, before they were even dating (they also learned Denki regressed as well, and it was nice to know another little). He and his therapist were sure it stemmed from his early childhood experiences with his cruel grandparents, but either way it was a common and safe indulgence to calm down at home (or in the Midoriya's home). Hell, no matter how much he assured his mom that he really didn't mind the light hits that she gave him, to tease or to scold, she had never raised a hand to him in littlespace, not even jokingly (he never let her know how much he appreciated it; she knew anyways). However, he didn't know anybody at the agency, not well enough to voluntarily regress in front of them. He didn't want to risk going into littlespace at night, in case an emergency came up and he'd have to stay back (or worse, go out in littlespace).

It all came to a T one night, when the news came out that the Nerd, Icyhot, and Engine Legs had gotten caught up with the hero killer. He'd gotten pretty good at spotting coverups in news stories, and if he knew one thing it's that his childhood friend couldn't just stand by. If he had to guess, Four Eyes had removed (at least momentarily) the stick up his ass and went to get revenge for his brother, and the other two showed up somehow. Considering the wounds on the three vs the hero, he doubted the Flame Bitch had showed up soon either. He knew Deku was smart and could certainly handle himself (he gave up on trying to hide his vigilante work from Katsuki in early middle school), and the other two were good enough fighters, but goddamn it did the nerd have to keep throwing himself in danger (spoiler alert, yes. Yes he does.)

He was sitting in his room at the agency, still staring deadly at the screen of his phone. He could feel the panic crawling up his throat, images blurring together of Izuku in various states of injury, or his corpse that so often plagued his dreams. He was just about to give in, let the panic take over just to stop the prolonged torture of anxiety, when an announcement came through the speaker in his room.

"All sidekicks present, report to meeting room. Once again, all sidekicks to meeting room. This applies to interns as well. Thank you."

Katsuki stood stiffly and exited his room, walking silently along the sidekicks as they entered the elevator down to the fourth floor, which held the main meeting rooms as well as a few offices. The blond didn't pay much attention to what was happening, the hero buzzing in his ears while he tried to focus on the fact that Izuku was safe, alive, barely injured. He'd just about succeeded, blurring vision slowly coming into focus, but the first words he heard undid all that hard work.
