❝I dare you to say that you love me.❞
I said out with a blank expression not caring how bad things might go for the guy in front of me after this.
The boy was confused for a moment but his expression soon changed into a smirk.
❝Fine.❞ He said

Sunghoon's POV
I ran inside the park as fast as possible and stopped finally seeing the girl sitting alone on a bench looking down. Panting I slowly walked to Hyerin as I saw her bare red face clearly. She didn't look at me as I approached her who just kept her eyes down, hands clutched onto her clothes and sniffled silently. "Hyerin.." she didn't reply while I stared at her with zero clue on what actually happened.
I sat on my knees and tried seeing her properly but she just looked more down. "You've to tell what happened Hyerin." A bit frustrated I straightforwardly asked her as she sniffed and kept her hands into small fists. "She broke my skates Sunghoon." Her weak voice said out as I looked at the destroyed pair of shoes sitting idle by her side. My eyes widened seeing those badly ruined skates and then seeing the miserable girl.
I had to take care of her now.
"Hey.." I raised her chins as her wet eyes made their way to meet mine. I felt my heart slightly paining seeing the miserable sight. Bringing my hands up, I wiped her tears as she let out some more fresh tears. "Don't cry Hyerin." But she wouldn't stop. "We can buy new ones you know." Suggesting a way I sat beside her as she looked at me and shook her head.
"It won't be the same Sunghoon. These skates are different. My dad gave them to me. They mean a lot to me." She wiped the tears from her face with her hands as I opened my mouth to say something but had nothing to say. It'd be a lie if I said I wasn't terrified seeing Hyerin cry like this. She is very hurt this time. "Why did your mother break it Hyerin?" Wanting to know what actually happened I looked for her response as she pulled back and sighed while wiping her tears away.
"I had a fight with my sister. A-and I slapped her because I couldn't control anymore, she got our father in. In a b-bad way. And then mom scolded me. She t-talked about my father in such a way as if he was useless Sunghoon." The girl stopped trying to hold her cries but she couldn't. I attentively stared at her as she continued. "I got angry and yeah I admit it I was disrespectful towards her but she didn't have to destroy the only thing I loved the most." She broke into tears once again as I looked at the the skates and sighed.
How do I make her stop crying?
"Hyerin look it's gonna be alright-" I tried comforting her but she looked at me and shook her head vigorously. "No Sunghoon you don't understand. It won't be alright. Those meant everything to me." I felt bad for her so much. Her entire body was shaking. "Hey stop shaking okay? Hyerin calm down. I know your mom didn't do the right thing but please stop crying. I don't like it.." I held her hands and squeezed it tightly as she stopped for a moment and looked at me.
She hugged me tightly as I froze for a moment but hugged her back. Her tears wet my shirt but that wasn't important at the moment. I looked up biting my lips because I wasn't able to help her in anyway. Patting her head, I just let her sob in my embrace. I am so sorry I'm not able to help you Hyerin. I really want to.
