Chapter 24: Introducing~ The Wiseman

I was having a dream about the future when, all of a sudden, my mother: Queen Serenity shows up.
"Serenity, the Black Moon Clan is planning on something big. I don't know what it is but, I have a bad feeling. Please, stay on guard."
I nodded my head, "I'll put up an invisible barrier too."

My mother was not someone who could feel so uneasy. If she was feeling something, then it meant that it was something serious. So I stayed up all night. The barrier I put up was big enough to cover Tokyo and it would allow me to find out what the black moon was planning.
'Usagi, why did you put up a barrier?'
'Mother warned me of something...she wants me to keep my guard up.'
'But it's too exhausting for you to keep the barrier up until they make their move! I'll help.'
I shook my head, 'No, if they attack then I'll let you know. Other than that, I can handle it.'
I could feel him through our bond. Sighing I reached out to him, 'Don't be so frustrated. I promise I won't push myself too hard. If I feel tired, I'll tell you.'
'You promise?'
'I promise.'

Soon after, I felt Mars contacting me, 'Usagi, why do I feel your energy covering Tokyo?'
I quickly explained everything to her, 'You better tell Mamoru if you feel tired. You can contact us too, we can create a barrier with our powers.'
'I know but, that'll take time. Plus it won't cover Tokyo.'
'True...I'll let the others know.'
'Thanks.'

Time Skip: 3 am

"Usagi, it's already three. You need to sleep." Luna said as she crawled into my lap.
"I know but, I'll stay like this just for a while longer."
The crystal was glowing in my hand, connecting my consciousness to the barrier itself.

All of the sudden, I felt Emerald's negative energy above the barrier.
She was clearly trying to break it but, "I won't let you break it so easily." I whispered under my breath.

Emerald POV

"Damn it! That stupid princess' barrier won't break! Now how am I supposed to get this flu virus to spread?!"
A portal appeared and Wiseman stepped out, "So this is the Silver Moon crystal's power. It's not bad but I can break it."
He used his weird globe to focus on one spot. The pressure of his powers was too high for me, so I teleported further away.

"It seems she's not all talk. Then how about this?!"
The barrier glowed faintly but it didn't crack.
"She's focusing her powers on the spot I'm attacking. Emerald, attack the other side."
"Don't boss me around!"
"If you listen, I'll help you become Diamond's one and only Queen."

'Hmm~ he's only the Wiseman. How could he help me?'
I looked at the man, he clearly had more power than even Prince Sapphire.
'Then again, if he can't help me, then who can?'
"Fine! You better keep your word."

Once I reached the other side of the barrier, I attacked using the virus.
I could tell once my powers hit, 'Her barrier is weakening considerably.'

Usagi POV

"Ugh, this is bad."
I was struggling to hold the barrier against the first attack. And now Emerald is joining in, on the other side of the barrier.
"Usagi! Hold on, I'll call the girls!"
"No! I'll ask Mamoru for help. The girls won't be of much help right now."

'Mamoru, I need help. They've ambushed me.'
He instantly woke up, as if he was waiting for me, 'What do you need me to do?'
'The west side of Tokyo, that's where their main attack is. I need you to help me block his attack.'
'Got it.'
I could feel the burden on my barrier decrease. It was clear that Mamoru had started using his Golden crystal to strengthen my barrier.

A few minutes later, Mamoru contacted me again.
'Just who is this person?! It's almost as if he has an unending amount of negative energy!'
'I think he's Wiseman. If he's not...then we have a lot more training to do.'
'Either way, we need a plan to save Tokyo. How is it on your side?'
'Not good, it seems Emerald is getting help from a third person. Maybe Sapphire or Diamond.'
'I doubt it's Sapphire. Could be Diamond or another one of Wiseman's underlings.'
