When I woke up, I wasn't in Mr. Pierce's office anymore. Actually, I wasn't sure where I was. I felt my exposed parts of my skin touching a cold metal table, snd I realized I was lying down on a table. It was an operation table, I could tell because of the way it was shaped. I tried to get up from the table, but I had no luck. I was able to lift my head at least, and I saw that my ankles, wrists, and waist was strapped down to the table. Ummm, maybe they do this with all new employees. I tried to reassure myself, but this was a rather cruel and scary initiation. I relaxed my neck for a split second before lifting it back up to take a look at the very suspicious room I was in.

The room itself something out of a horror movie: it was a dim room lit by four small lights embedded in the cracked ceiling. There were no windows and only one giant metal door meaning there was one way in and one way out. The room was also very big considering I was the only one in it. There were a few chairs right in front of me, but that was the only other thing in the room. Through my jeans and sweater, I could feel the coldness of the room and it made goosebumps rise on my skin. Finally the smell: the smell didn't correlate with the scenery. The place looked like an abandoned bunker that hasn't been used in centuries, but the smell. It was clean and rather crisp. The air felt clean as well and it wasn't stuffy or anything. Whatever this place was, it gave off a completely different feeling than S.H.I.E.L.D. This place was empty, cold, isolated...and fucking depressing.

"Ummm, hello?" I called out, and my voice bounced off the walls. "Mr. Pierce? Ummm, I'm not sure if this is a joke or initiation or something, but you're kinda scaring me?" There was no response though. I tried to move restraints to see if they were fake, but they were real, and there was no way out of it. "Umm, Mr. Pierce. I don't know if I should've told you this, but I'm...I'm not really good in dark places...especially places that looks like it was meant for a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear war. Do you mind letting me out or something...please?" As if someone heard me, that giant metal door swung open. I rotated my neck to the side and a whole group of men in white lab coats walked in pushing carts and holding different medical equipment. Followed by them were three soldiers dressed in black. They had the S.H.I.E.L.D logo imprinted on their vest and I sighed with relief.

"Oh hey guys! I don't know if this is a prank or something, but I don't like it. Do you mind letting me out so I can go talk to Mr. Pierce about this whole thing?" They all seemed to pay no attention to me. Two of the soldiers stayed on either side of the metal door, which was still opened, and the third soldier was examining all the scientists. They were setting up computers and cleaning all these tools. "Hey, soldier sir, this is my first day, do you mind telling me what the hell is going on?" He stopped and stared down at me. He didn't even speak. He just stared at me then walked away. One of the scientists then came up next to me and wrapped a blood pressure cuff around my arm.

"Umm, excuse me sir, but what are you doing?"

"I'm checking your vitals so I can compare them later. Your heartbeat rate is high."

"Well, no shit it's high. I'm strapped down to a table and no one is telling me if this is a prank or not."

"Don't worry, you'll know soon enough." A familiar voice directed my head away from the scientist to the doorway. I twisted my head and saw the same exact lady who offered me the headset from The Smithsonian two days ago.

"You? You work for S.H.I.E.L.D? We're you following me?" The lady just stood int eh doorway, but a another voice came from behind her.

"Yes she was following you, but she doesn't work for S.H.I.E.L.D." The lady stepped out of the doorway and my eyebrows lifted.

"Mom? What is this place? Why did you have someone follow me? Why am I tied up?" My mom whispered something to the lady's ear, and the lady nodded as if she was confirming something before walking out. My mom, who was wearing a lab coat like the others, pulled out a pair of blue gloves and put them on her hands. My smile dropped a bit. "Mom? What's with the gloves?" Suddenly I felt this wet cloth hit my arm and my gaze went back to the other scientist guy. He was holding a needle.
