If this wasn't what you wanted, then I'm sorry in advance. I hope you'll like it!
___________
After another exhausting and tiring expedition, most people were worn out. You were one of them.
You were quiet the whole time in the ride back to the headquarters, along with the survey corps. You kept your face the same, your mouth was slightly parted as your eyes were stuck to the ground.
You listened as you heard the murmurs of the citizens as they complained about how the number of soldiers dramatically decreased on the way back.
All of you went back to the headquarters. Almost everyone was silent. It was because of how exhausted they were, or maybe traumatized from the sight of their comrades getting devoured by the titans.
You went to the barracks, still exhausted and unable to speak for a while. You sat on your bed, staring into the distance.
Mikasa came in after you and saw you. She walked up to you as a worried look was plastered on her face. She sat beside you and waited for you to look to her and speak.
Unfortunately, you stayed silent, unaware of Mikasa's presence beside you. You were still deep in thought, the horrible scenes from the expedition going through your mind over and over again.
After a while of staring at you, Mikasa placed a hand on your shoulder. "(Y/n)." You flinched, realizing Mikasa's presence just now and coming back to reality.
She observed you and noticed you flinching from her actions. She knew something was wrong and had to do something about it. "Are you alright?" Mikasa asked, making you face her.
"I... Yeah... I'm - I'm alright." You stuttered. She observed your visibly nervous look on your face, she couldn't be more worried.
Mikasa didn't buy it. She scooted closer to you and held your hand and gently squeezed it. "You're not okay. I know you're not." She sighed. "Is there something you need? I can go get it for you."
You shake your head silently, keeping your gaze to the ground. She only stared at you for a while before she realized it was already time to eat. "(Y/n)." She called you.
You lifted your head to look at her, waiting for her response. "Let's go. Eren and the others are probably finding us." Mikasa said, grabbing your arm. You nodded and stood up and followed Mikasa to the mess hall.
You only stared at your food, not once touching it. Everyone was acting strange, and not just you. Mikasa was worried, especially for you.
Mikasa patted your shoulder, making you flinch again. You faced her with a surprised look that soon changed to a tired one. "Sorry... I was just a little startled by you." You said quietly.
Mikasa took your bread and brought it in front of your mouth. "Eat. You need it." She said, making the bread touch your lips.
You shook your head. "I don't have any appetite right now. But thank you." You said and Mikasa looked at you worriedly. She was about to speak when Armin noticed you and decided to ask what was wrong.
"(Y/n), you seem distracted. Are you okay?" He asked. You looked at him and forced a small smile. "Yeah, I'm fine." You said. He looked at you, "If you say so. Just get some rest if you aren't." He answered.
You thought for a moment before nodding. "Yeah... I... I think I need some rest." You said, standing up. "If you excuse me. I'll go." You muttered before walking away.
"I'll follow (Y/n) to make sure she rests well." Mikasa said, standing up. "Mikasa, shouldn't she get any privacy?" Eren asked. Mikasa shook her head, "I'm sure she won't mind." And she walked away, leaving them alone.
"(Y/n)." She called you after entering the barracks. You looked at her and looked down again. She walked up to you and sat beside you on your bed.
You faced you and looked at you, her face showing worry. She scooted closer to you to take a closer look of you. She "(Y/n)." She said your name again, making you look at her.
She moved a strand of hair out of your face and tucked it behind your ear. "What are you feeling? You didn't eat, and you look worried about something." Mikasa asked.
You shrugged. "I'm sorry for stressing you. I'm just slightly - I'm still terrified about the expedition from earlier." You answered, looking away.
"It's fine. It's normal for soldiers like you to feel that way." Mikasa answered, trying to comfort you. You stayed quiet, facing away from her.
Mikasa watched you in silence before wrapping an arm around you and pulls you closer to her, making you lean against her. "I'm not really... An expert at this. So I hope this helps you." She said as she gently rubbed your shoulder.
You sighed, slowly feeling calm from Mikasa's touch and you melted into it, leaning against her. "It's okay. I'm feeling... Comfortable now." You muttered, placing your head on her shoulder.
Mikasa looked at you and softly smiled, resting her head on top of yours. "I'm glad."
