Jammu and Kashmir, one of the Indian Union territories, was declared a Union territory on 31 October 2019. It is located in the northernmost part of the country. It is also locally known as the “Diamond crown of India”.

Every year, people all over the country come to visit Kashmir. The Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been divided into three parts: Jammu, Kashmir valleys. It has 20 Districts. It is surrounded by China on the north and the east, Pakistan on the west, and Afghanistan on the northwest. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Ladakh are the neighbouring states of Jammu and Kashmir.
The capitals are Jammu in winter and Srinagar in summer. The reason behind having two capitals is that in winters, Srinagar becomes a challenging place to carry out business and trade, so to ensure that every function works smoothly, the capital in the winters is Jammu.
The current government functioning in Jammu & Kashmir has Girish Chandra Murmu (Administrator) as the governor in charge.The post of Chief Minister is still vacant.
Though the Indian Army functions in Jammu & Kashmir, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir does not control it.
Koshur is the language spoken by about 7 million Kashmiri people. The government declared the official languages of Kashmir to be including Hindi, English, Urdu, Dogri, and Kashmiri.
Taking a look over the food, non-vegetarian food is the most famous and favorite item in Jammu and Kashmir. Many cuisines are cooked using mutton, commonly known as gosht, in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rogan josh and mutton biriyani are famous delicacies in the state. Dum aloo is another famous Vegetarian dish.
