MAYBE IT WAS THE pounding pressure that was slamming against her skull, or perhaps the raggedness of her breathing that caused her sight to become blurry. Though it could have been the salty teardrops that fell from her glossed forest eyes, while they were fixated onto the folded parchment that lay on top of her duvet.
Maybe it was all of the above.
All of it made her take the steps into the night courtyard later that evening, when no one was looking. Melody was cautious, making sure that Harry was not current in the corridors, nor were a professor lurking behind the stone walls or pondering the steps of the outside nature beyond the castle. Filch was just on the other side of the cement walled place, Melody had waited for a couple of double digit minutes to pass before she could no longer here is stubby footprints tapping on the freezing cold ground.
It was empty around this time, no one would suspect a thing. Not one person would have assumed maybe a dark creature or an evil sorceror to appear in the middle of the night, right in the center of the school.
It didn't occur to the brunette on why she began to move so quickly when the time struck the latest, she presumed it was just the urge to figure out what was going on with her visions, if no wizard or witch would tell her; she never once thought that it could've been an instinct from the blood that was her father's, that coursed through her veins like molten lava falling down the rocks, resembling a ravine during a storm.
The wind was brushing each and every branch full of leaves until they were clashing on one another, seeming as though they were whispering the secrets of the woods that stood from behind them. The crunching of each dried up leaf would echo and inundate the starry night sky, the speckles of light glistening from the moons radiant shine, looking and seeming like the nox spell that Melody had just used to get here.
She turned her gaze from the swaying of the grass, that was patched alongside to courtyard, surrounding her with swishing from the air softly swaying through all of the singular strands of the green plantation, to the obsidian and mystic blue colored airspace, the one filled with with dots of light splattered like a bucket of paint that had dropped on the ground. The colors blended together making an ombre looked art that you would see in a muggle museum, the one that Melody would always visit with her mother as she was growing up.
She always tended to stare a bit to long on each painting, her mother would grip her arm softly⸺ tugging it as a sign that they should move onto the next, but the mixed ones, the type that reminded her of dusk and dawn, were always her favorite. Melody would always switch her eyesight to be on that same painting whenever they made another time around.
She wanted to learn how to paint like that. Yes, she had done many drawings or small portraits at her house, but she never once had imagined being able to do that. The lack of self-confidence that was stored in her body, would always strike her at a particular moment. Her eyes would gleam brighter like starlight, quickly dimming, it mirrors a lamp post going out with the switch of the deluminator; sucking all of the scintilation out creating a pathway to a black hole, the color of the iris turning to be as dark as the musky depths of a sea green river.
