Zayn's POV

I'd been texting my mum ever since Eve had gotten home. She and I had gotten in bed, but I wasn't talking to her so much. Mostly paying attention to my mobile as I received texts from mum.

Mum: Hi sweetheart. Waliyah just showed me some pictures of you and a girl we've never seen before. Are you finally seeing someone again?

I shook my head, realizing Waliyah had been showing mum those pictures of Eve and I from when she'd first arrived in London.

To Mum: That's Liam's cousin Eve. She's living with us for a little while. She's pregnant, and we've been helping her out.

From Mum: That's very sweet. She looks very young.

To Mum: She's not even 18 yet. A few weeks more. You can hardly tell though because she seems so grown up.

From Mum: Sounds like a strong girl to me. (: The girls think she's beautiful, and I have to agree.

To Mum: Yeah, she is. Strong and beautiful. She's perfect, Mum.

From Mum: Sounds like you like this girl a lot. :)

To Mum: I do. But she's in no condition to be thinking about me. Liam's not too keen on us either. I don't know.

From Mum: It will work out, Zayn. And when it does, I hope you two and the baby come visit us and your sisters. I love you.

To Mum: Ok, love you too Mum.

I turned my attention back to Eve, explaining who I'd been talking to.

We engaged in some playful banter about her flipping herself over and tossing and turning, and then I apologized to her, understanding how hard it must be to be pregnant.

"I-it is hard." She gulped.

In that moment, I looked into her eyes, the same eyes I'd fallen in love with just a few months ago. I was ready. I was going to tell her how I felt about her. So what if Liam doesn't like it?

"Eve?" I half whispered, not breaking eye contact.

"Yeah?" She breathed.

I opened my mouth, but I couldn't say it. I just- froze. Why couldn't I just be a man, grow some balls, and tell Eve?

"Goodnight." I blurted, and turned over so my back was facing her.

I was the idiot of the year.

Eve's POV

"I watched you sleeping, quietly in my bed, you don't know this now but there's some things that need to be said." I sang quietly to myself as I did a load of laundry for the boys.

"What if I fall, and hurt myself, would you know how to fix me? What if I went and lost myself? Would you know where to find me? If I forgot who I am, would you please remind me? Oh, 'cause without you things go hazy." I continued, dumping most of Zayn's hamper out into the washing machine.

That song had been stuck in my head all morning. It was very cute. I'd heard it in that coffee shop I used to go to all the time in Wolverhampton.

"Good thing you aren't a singer because you can't sing for shit." I heard a voice behind me, making me jump. I turned around to see Harry, grinning evilly at me.

"Don't be mean to me! I'm washing your clothes!" I waved my finger at him.

"Sorry babe." He chuckled, his curls brushing over his face.

"Any reason you decided to sneak up on me?" I raised an eyebrow.

"No, I just wanted to know where you were."
