chapter 9

It's the end of the day, and you have to give levi your answer. You had thought about it ever since you talked to Eren by his dorm, but you haven't seen levi or eren all day.

Erwin had announced an expedition to take place a few weeks ago and you all was leaving in two days so you had been preparing for that. However, since you was so unfocused in today's training, you wanted to make it up to yourself but training extra hard tomorrow. You knock on Levi's office door, to give him the answer to his question.
"State your name and business." He ordered.
"Y/n, we need to talk." He calls you in and you shut the door behind him, sitting down on the chair facing him.

"Okay so um...about earlier.."
You start to say, as levi sits upright with his full attention to you.
"I um...I like.."
"......?"
"I like someone...else..." you muttered, seeing levi's face drop and look down to the floor at his shoes. He looks back up at you with a small smile.
"That's okay cadet. I didn't expect you to say yes anyways.." he sadly smiled, knowing you'd just broken his heart. You felt bad...
"But can I ask you something captain?" He looks back up to you.

"Yes?"

"I've been...unfocused on training today, so I was wondering if you could help me training better tomorrow.." he doubted your question for a minute, buy eventually caved in.
"Yes cadet. But that will be all. Go get some rest." He ordered. You stood up saluting him and walked back to the door.
"Captain?"
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry..." he looks away from you and down at his work.
"Its okay." He said firmly. You nodded your head and walked back to your dorm. But as soon as you left, levi broke down. He slammed his pen onto the desk and cupped his cheeks into the pit of his hands and sobbed quietly. He leaned against the desk, burrowing his head into his arms until finally sleeping.

The next day

It was 9am and you'd just finished your breakfast, making your way to the training field. You see levi standing there, gently kicking a few rocks that lay there in the dust. He looked up and saw you coming over and nodded.
"Goodmorning cadet, are you ready for your training?" His gaze shifted from the floor to your bright eyes. It was a cloudy day, looking like it was going to rain, but your eyes still somehow glistened.
"More ready than ever." Everyone else started making their way to the field and took their stances with their partners.
"Let me rephrase that. Can you handle my strength y/l/n?"
You smirked at his response, confident.
"You bet. Shorty." He growled at your response and took his stance.

Erens pov

I wasn't feeling too good. The food from breakfast got to me and I felt a little sick, so Erwin let me sit out for the first round of training, which was 30 min rounds, 10 min breaks. So I'd be training again in 40 minutes. I didn't have that much to do so I just sat on a nearby bench, seeing that levi was training with y/n. They're together. Did y/n just use me to get to levi..? Was what she said to me that night true or did she just feel bad? I squinted my eyes at the thoughts I had and looks back over at y/n and levi training. It was only 10 mins into training and y/n was dominating levi. She was constantly dodging punches, returning them with hers. She even knocked him down on the floor. There was some sort've adrenaline in y/n today, I liked it.

End of training and POV

You ended the round, pinning levi to the floor. You both got up and he ruffled your hair.
"You've gotten stronger cadet. I've trained you well. Have a good rest of your day cadet, I'll see you for the expedition tomorrow." He praised you, with you saluting him as he marched away. You saw eren on the bench near you, with him looking at you. You smiled and waved, only seeing a faint smile back as he looked away.

You sat next to Eren and put your arm around him.

"Hey, babydick, what's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Jeez eren, what's up with you-"

"Drop it y/n. Its nothing."
He hissed, barging your hand away as he got up and went to his training partner. What was up the him...? Why was he acting like that? You decided to do as he said and dropped it for now. Maybe he was just tired. You'd talk to him later. You got up and went over to your next training partner, Annie. She was pretty strong, but you'd always been stronger. However, when not training, you and Annie actually had a good friendship. But since you were both super busy, you never had time to talk.

"Hey y/n, you ready?" Annie reassures.
"Let's do this."

You guys spared for a bit and eventually, after a few hours, training ended and you went to lunch. After, you day went pretty quick. It got to 8pm and you decided to have an early night, ready for tomorrow's expedition.

Although you was excited, there was one pretty big downfall when it came to expeditions...

Not everyone came back alive.

OK so, I was thinking at ending this story in the next chapter. However, if you DONT want me to end the story, comment because I'm still note sure. However, if I decide to NOT end the story, there will me some more sad chapters, but still happy ones too! But if I end the story in the last chapter, then that'll be it. The end will be there and it'll be a short story. Please lmk because I'm not sure whether to keep on with the story. But I might. I might not. Thank you! <3
