It has two weeks since I saw Oren being uneasy in the library, and he has been that way since then.

To say I haven't been worried about him is a huge lie because I have.

The last two days he hasn't been in school and I don't know why.

I tried asking Cole, Kel and even Charlie but they don't know his whereabouts.

He did tutor me the whole week before the math test. I got a B which I boasted about but later found out Oren got an A.

The guy's basically a genius... but I came to the realization that he's a bad influence on me.

"Sky !" Charlie calls out while snapping her fingers at my face and that brings me out of my thoughts.

"What are you thinking about ?" She asks and all I do is let out a heavy sigh.

We're in her room seated on the bed eating McDonalds while binge watching The Residence since it's a Saturday and we have nothing to do.

My friendship with Charlie is quite better. I told her about Oren tutoring me and she was okay with it... as long as it benefits me.

I showed her my tattoos a week ago and she fell in love with them, so we had Kel do her similar ones. The only difference is mine are stars while hers are hearts.

I look at the time on my phone at it reads 5:00 pm.

"I should get going..." I say to Charlie then get up to leave but she pulls me back to bed and folds me into a tight hug.

"I can't believe it's the last time I'll be seeing you..." She says and I feel a streak of her warm tear fall on to my neck.

Our flight to Italy leaves tomorrow at 8:00 am so I came to spend my last day in American with Charlie.

"Me too." I say to her. My own tears threatening to fall.

When I enter the house my dad and Jenna's shouting can be heard all the way from the main gate.

Are they fighting...?

They never fight ! Mostly because my dad agrees to everything Jenna says.

I head upstairs and Jenna walks out of my dad's study angry and crying.

Huh ?!

She intentionally knocks me on the stairs while heading downstairs. I hold on to the railing to steady myself. I know she did that in order to channel her pent up anger and frustrations.

Can't blame her...

Once she's out of sight I run to my dad's study. I find him slumped on his swivel chair gulping down a glass of whiskey.

His study is messy. Quite similar to how I found my room two weeks ago.

"What's going on ...?" I ask while surveying my surroundings.

"Go check your room." Is all my dad says in a flat tone that's void of any emotion.

When I enter my room, everything seems to be in place, except for a brown envelope laying on my comforter.

I pick it up and rip it open. Inside are three plane tickets stamped CANCELED on them.

I run back to my dad's study.

"What's this ?" I ask him while holding up the tickets.

"We're not leaving honey..." He says without looking up and a smile sprawls on my face.

We're not leaving...

I run to where my dad is seated and hug him.

Is that why Jenna was angry ?

"...and the wedding is off." He adds and my body stiffens while my face goes blank.

Though I feel sorry for him, I can't help but be happy.

I didnt like Jenna. It's sad but it's true.

After an awkward ten minutes, I excuse myself then head to my room.

I pick up my phone to call Charlie and tell her the good news when it starts ringing and Jessica's name flashes on the screen.

Jessica...

"Hello"

"Sky..." She calls out breathless and I instantly start worrying.

"It's Oren..." She says in a hoarse voice.

Those two words were enough to make me start panicking.
