A few days later I'm fully engrossed in my drawings at work when a throat is cleared. I look over my shoulder to see Terri, "there's someone asking for you" I lift an eyebrow, "I don't know who he is but he insisted on seeing you" she adds. "Okay" I say standing to follow her towards the person that wants to see me. "Update me, because he's got the attention of every girl at this company" she says when she stops at her desk letting me go alone to reception. Her statement makes my mind immediately jump to Charles, but I know that's not possible, he's in Europe right now.

When I round the corner taking me to reception I see the Monte Carlo native sitting in the waiting area his head down scrolling through his phone. I gasp bringing my hands over my mouth, the noise makes Charles look up. He grins at the sight of me, standing up before walking over, my eyes are wide while wondering if my mind is playing tricks on me. "Della" the sound of his voice makes me smile lowering my hands from my face, "you're actually here" I say, he places his hands on my hips answering my statement, "of course" he replies. I don't say anything further I just throw my arms around his neck, nuzzling my face into his shoulder, he winds his arms around me tightly before kissing my head softly. "What are you doing here? How did you know where to find me? I have so many questions" I ask in a flurry of excitement when I pull away from the hug, "if I tell you I'll have to kill you" he replies with a serious expression, I shove him earning a laugh, "Wren and Émilie set it all up and I went along with it" I smile needing to remember to thank them later.

I can't help but pull the Ferrari driver into another hug, he's surprised but brings me to his chest again, "I missed you" I murmur into him, "missed you too Della" he replies and we stand there hugging for a few seconds. I move out of his arms when I remember that i'm supposed to be working, "while this is an amazing surprise i'm on the clock for a few more hours" I explain to Charles, "I know, I was going to head back to the hotel room I booked after this and then once you're done you can be my tour guide" I smile up at him, "parfait" he leans over to peck my cheek, "au revoir, a ce soir Della" I watch him turn around and leave the building before walking back towards my desk not knowing how i'm going to get anything done for the rest of the day.

☕️☕️☕️

I'm smiling as I walk out of the building towards my car. Once I'm in the drivers seat I take out my phone to text Charles, needing to know which hotel he's staying at. When he gives me the information I start the car leaving my parking spot going towards the hotel. The thought of seeing the Monte Carlo native makes me grin the whole drive over, excited to show him the city where I grew up.

I text Charles when I'm stopped in front of the hotel, telling him that I've gotten there. He replies with a smiling emoji making me laugh before putting away the device to wait. I look out the passenger window as the brunette walks out of the hotel, I smile as he comes closer before quickly getting into my car. "You wear glasses?" I ask surprised by the thin gold frames perched on his nose, "I never told you?" Charles replies confused, I giggle and shake my head, "nope, but I definitely think you should wear them more often" he laughs and takes my hand to interlace our fingers, "i'll keep that in mind Della". I smile my gaze moving to the road ahead as I drive away from the hotel to take the Monegasque to some of my favourite places in Seattle.

☕️☕️☕️

The two of us step out of my parked car a few minutes later. Charles is grinning at our surroundings making me feel the same kind of joy. "It's kind of cliché but the first Starbucks is a place that I've always loved, the hustle and bustle of tourists always seemed to make me forget about my problems" I explain as we walk towards the well know shop. "If it means something to you that's enough for me" I smile at him my heart fluttering, "this is actually where I met my ex" I say with a sad smile, "Della" I shake my head taking his hand, "I'm truly okay, it's just the memories will always be here" Charles squeezes my hand and pulls me closer, "let's make some new memories then" I look into his light eyes feeling nothing but trust towards the Ferrari driver. "I would really like that" he grins before pulling me into the Starbucks our hands staying locked as he orders us some warm beverages for the chillier than usual evening.
