CHAPTER EIGHT: THE SUSPECTS

During the next couple of days, the Secret Keepers were looking through the files of Emma Green and Polly Roads. They came to the conclusion that he was poisoned but how was he poisoned?

And the question was why was he poisoned? Why did the killer want Johnson dead? Polly and Emma were the only people who knew about Johnson. They had already interviewed Lashin but Lashin was definitely hiding something.

The group leader, Kelsey Kane, had sent a sample of the poison to her chemistry teacher, Hank McCoy or known as Beast to get results of how they created the poison. Days later, they got the results.

Mr. McCoy then knocked on the headquarters as Kelsey came out.

"Hey, Mr. McCoy, you found something?" She asked as she stepped outside crossing her arms.

"Yes," He said as he pushed his glasses up. "It looks like it was created by some kind of power. Like it didn't take effect until Johnson drank it."

"So it appeared as water and then once he drank it, he was dead." Kelsey said taking the baggy from McCoy observing it.

"Looks like it," He said nodding. "But Kelsey, you need to be careful. This person could be dangerous."

"I know, we have a lead." She said nodding. "Thanks sir."

She closed the door as she took the evidence to her friends. Dylan looked at it closely while Lily came by his side.

"But what's confusing is why they would kill Johnson," Kelsey said groaning.

"Maybe someone told them to." Jayden suggested.

"Who?" Kelsey asked.

"I don't know. Maybe a guy named Eagle?" Jayden joked.

Kelsey rolled her eyes. They were coming so close to this case, they couldn't give up now.

"I feel like Jayden might be on to something. What if someone told them to kill Johnson?" Kelsey asked the group.

"I can ask Polly tomorrow during math." Dylan said crossing his arms.

Kelsey nodded, "I have a feeling that the truth is gonna come out today."

During math class, Dylan Frost took a seat next to Polly Roads. Polly had those shape green eyes and red curly hair. She glanced at Dylan as she turned back to her work.

"Polly, right?" Dylan asked offering his hand, "I need to ask you some questions."

"For what? I don't know anything about your stupid case," She said growling under her breath.

"Please? You can prove your innocence," He gave a charming smile. "Did you have anything to do with Jeff Johnson's death?"

"I told you, I know nothing." Polly spat in his face.

"You might know something," Dylan titled his head reading her mind.

"Get out of my mind, Frost." She growled holding her head.

"Then answer my question. Did you have anything to do with Jeff Johnson's death?" He asked narrowing his eyes.

"I didn't poison him." She said with her eyes widening. It looked like she had been caught in a lie.

"I never said anything about poison," He then chuckled. "Looks like that you have some explaining to do."

"Get off me!" Polly said as Dylan placed her in a chair. It was a dark room that the light suddenly turned on revealing Kelsey Kane was reading a book. It was called "Camp of Competition" with her arms crossed.

"So Polly Roads, you poisoned him, eh?" She chuckled, "Why?"

"I don't know! I don't know!" She said trying to get out of the chair but Jayden was using his powers to make her frozen.

"Tell me what happen." She said in a deep voice.

"Okay, he made us a deal. He said that if he killed Johnson, we would get a upper deal. Emma poisoned him. Not me." Polly said pleading, "I had nothing to do with it."

"But you made the poison," Kelsey said. "Because we went through your locker and found the items that you used to make the poison."

"I-"

"Now, where is Emma?" She said. "Because we are the Secret Keepers and we aren't going down without a fight."
