CHAPTER SEVEN: THE FILE ROOM
During that night, Detective Kelsey Kane made her way to the file room to get Polly and Emma's file. She then used her powers to get in the file room without having to use a key.
She flicked her hair out of her face as she looked for the file. Being the clumsy fool that she was, she accidentally dropped a file. She sighed in annoyance as she picked it up. Her sparkling blue eyes went wide.
It was labeled "KELSEY KANE" in bold. She turned to her file. It was a picture of her with her short blonde hair. She didn't remember taking that picture but she guessed that they got pictures recently.
It had everything about her. Her gender, her backstory, her family, her friends, everything.
It even explained that she was in fifteen foster homes and she never got adopted. She then begin to shake remembering the memory of not getting chosen. She was always a role model to the other kids but never getting a family like she always wanted.
Jayden was up since he had a nightmare and walked around the school to calm down. He walked by the file room and heard crying.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Jayden asked as he opened the door. He then saw Kelsey and his eyes went soft. "Kelsey.."
Kelsey turned around and she had tears running down her face. She kept trying to breathe but she couldn't. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She broke down crying.
Jayden winced seeing Kelsey crying. "Kelsey, there is no reason for you to be sorry." He walked up to her and used his shirt to wipe her tears.
Kelsey kept crying since she couldn't stop herself. There was a lot of pressure on her. She had presure on her for the past few weeks. She had been through a lot. When she saw her file, it completely broke her.
Jayden sighed pulling Kelsey into a tight hug. He slushed her and looked into her eyes. "Kelsey, please stop crying. You don't look as pretty as you are when you're smiling."
Kelsey flinched when she heard that. She hoped that she heard that right. Did Jayden Daniels just call her pretty? Nobody had ever called Kelsey pretty before. She always got compliments for her sparkle blue eyes but she never got called pretty.
Jayden laughed, "Have you never noticed? Oh come on. You're beautiful, inside and out. I'm not leaving you. Remember that, okay?" He patted her head smiling ruffling it.
"Thank you," She blushed. "I've always loved your blue hazel eyes."
Jayden blushed. "Thanks." He let go of her and he looked down at his shirt which was covered in tears. "I gotta go change really quick."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Kelsey said looking over his shirt. She saw her file and picked it back up. "They were right about everything."
"About what?" Jayden asked about to leave.
"That nobody wanted me." She said sniffing. "But it's okay. It's fine."
Jayden coughed and mumbled to himself. "I wanted you." He was hoping that Kelsey wouldn't have heard him. He then left the file room to go to the bathroom to change. He came back with a dark brown shirt instead. Kelsey had wrote Jayden a note and handed it to him.
"Read it when you think it's right," She smiled as she walked out of the file room. She walked out of there feeling happy and loved. She picked up Emma and Polly's file. She then turned to Jayden. "Hey, Jayden?"
"Yeah?" He asked looking up to her.
"Thanks again, detective." She smiled nodding her head as she left the room for the night.
