CHAPTER FOUR: THE SECRET KEEPERS

Jayden and the group made their way to the cafeteria where they picked their dinner from the variety of choices. Jayden got a hamburger, Kelsey had Mac and Cheese, Cyan was eating candy, Lily and Dylan shared something that nobody had no clue of what it was.

They sat down at a table where they established where they were going to eat everyday. Kelsey was sharing her notes while the group was trying to decide who was the killer.

"So if Polly has mind powers, do you think that she was controlling me?" Jayden asked eating a french fry. "She doesn't even know me."

"She's really mean. One time, I made her a painting but I fell asleep. By the time that I woke up, my painting was ruined!" Cyan explained using his hands to tell the story. Everyone stared at Cyan while he giggled.

"How did you fall asleep?" Dylan asked confused. "While you gave her a picture."

"I was standing up!" Cyan laughed as Kelsey tried to pick the clues from Cyan's story.

He made her a painting. He fell asleep and when he woke up, the painting was ruined. Polly had mind powers. So that meant that Polly had wiped Cyan's brain, ruined the painting, and made Cyan think that he was the one who ruined the painting.

"What if Polly was the one who was brainwashing everyone? You say that she's mean right? She could have brainwashed Jayden. That's why he doesn't remember attacking us." Kelsey explained.

"She couldn't have murdered Johnson," Lily said. "If she's the one that is responsible, why would she do it?"

Cyan then looked off into the distance seeing a shadow. He then followed the shadow being the curious boy that he was. All of a sudden, everything went black.

After Cyan had gone to find the shadow, Jayden grew concerned for him. He found Dot, (Cyan's stuffed bunny) but no Cyan. He got up from his seat and went to find Cyan. He made his way to the gym.

"Cyan! Where are you?" Jayden called out walking the same way that Cyan did. He then saw Cyan shooting some baskets. "Hey dude, I was looking for you."

Cyan looked at Jayden with a stare. His eyes were glowing. His stare wasn't bouncy or joyful, it was full of hatred.

Something was off.

"Cyan?" Jayden asked as Cyan tackled Jayden to the ground. Jayden screamed trying to defend himself. Kelsey heard it from a mile away, she dropped her spoon as she ran to save her friend. She then saw Cyan attacking Jayden.

"Jayden! You have to knock him out!" Kelsey called out as Jayden gulped nodding. He used his strength to kick Cyan off of him. Jayden then set a hand on Cyan's back. Jayden then took a deep breath.

"Sleep and don't wake up until I tell you to," Jayden commanded as he put a sleeping spell on Cyan. Cyan then passed out on the ground. Kelsey ran over to Jayden asking him if he was alright. The rest of the group ran in seeing Cyan on the ground.
