Draco didn't know what was going on with Harry and Melissa, he was sure that it wasn't anything bad, but he was feeling left out. He had been friends with Harry the longest, so why wasn't Harry going to him with whatever it was? Ven always told him that they didn't know what Harry and Melissa were doing either, but Draco wasn't sure if he believed them.

Melissa would always come into Harry and Draco's dorm part way through their time together and take the Dragon plush Draco had bought for Harry, occasionally with one of the others. Draco was worried about why Harry always needed one of his plushies.

-----

Melissa was really proud of Harry, his vocabulary was getting larger and his voice was sounding less raspy and forced. He was still quiet and stuttered a lot, but that didn't matter too much. After all, if anyone mocked Harry for stuttering Melissa knew at least 10 people who would make them regret it for the rest of their lives.

In fact, their sessions together had become shorter, Harry being able to learn the words, phrases, and sentences quickly, only to rush back to his dorm because he wanted to be around Draco. Melissa thought it was adorable how Harry was so obvious about his feelings for Draco, and yet couldn't recognise them himself.

"You're still not going to tell me what you're working on with Harry?" Ven asked, leaning against the frame of Melissa's bed, having left Harry and Draco's dorm once Harry returned.

"It's for Harry to tell you, not me. I'm sure you'll find out before too long, though. Maybe after Christmas, Draco gets to find out first." Melissa said, chucking at the pouting expression Ven had on their face.

"Why do I have to be the last to know?" Ven complained.

"Because that's life." Melissa said with a chuckle, pulling Ven onto the bed next to her. She was laughing and didn't seem to notice the blush on Ven's cheeks as her eyes were closed. They stared at her happy face for a moment, she was extremely beautiful.

"It's nothing too difficult though, right?" Ven asked, they didn't want Melissa to be overworking herself, or Harry for that matter.

"For me it's easy, not much more than a normal day with those two, but it's pretty tough for Harry, especially at the beginning, but he's getting better and more confident, or at least he's figuring out how to make himself comfortable with it." Melissa said, sitting upright on her bed, her face falling slightly, she wanted Harry to be happy, and he wanted to be able to talk, he thought they would all be happier if he was able to talk and be 'normal'.

"Don't push him too far, okay?" Ven told her, their eyebrows raised and looking at Melissa as though she was in the wrong.

"I know that, I'm always keeping an eye on him and his breathing in case we need to stop, or I need to help him breathe properly. " Melissa said, feeling upset with the implication Ven made that she wasn't properly looking after Harry. She knew she was far from perfect, but that doesn't mean that she's not able to look after Harry.

"I didn't mean that, you know how Harry can be, he's so used to suppressing his feelings that it can be hard to see when he needs help, or a break." Ven said, trying to get closer to Melissa, only for her to move away.

"I know, Ven, my sister was raised by muggles, they aren't accepting of people with different sexualities, religions, or disabilities. Harry grew up with some of the worst of them, ones who can't accept any differences whatsoever." Melissa snapped. Sure, her family were pure bloods, but she was their only biological child, her other siblings were all magic children who were either orphaned or abandoned. She knew more about how muggles could treat their magical children than other pure bloods. She knew not all muggles were like this, but that doesn't mean that they couldn't be horrific.

"Sorry, Melissa. I wasn't thinking." Ven said with a sigh. It was true, they didn't know as well as Melissa did how badly muggles could harm them. They had only seen from the furthest distance, been there for her as she cried at the loss of her youngest brother, an obscurial who had lost control one night when everyone else was asleep.

"It's fine, just remember that I do know how to look after Harry." Melissa said. "We should get our homework done."

-----

"Are you having fun with Melissa?" Draco asked. He hoped he didn't sound bitter, he genuinely wanted Harry to be enjoying whatever he was doing with Melissa, but that didn't mean he wasn't feeling left out. He was Harry's friend first, he wanted to know what Harry was doing.

Harry paused for a second, opening his mouth before closing it again and nodding. He wanted to talk to Draco, that's why he was trying to learn, but he couldn't bring himself to yet.

"I'll do it at Christmas." Harry promised himself.
