"Sirius!! Come down here! Now!" Remus called up the stairs. He was making himself and Sirius some tea for breakfast while reading the Daily Prophet. Seeing a picture of Harry on the cover made him interested, but what he read made him pale.

"Remus... What's wrong?" Sirius asked, sleepily coming downstairs, yawning.

Remus didn't answer, only handed the Daily Prophet over. Sirius immediately looked more awake, taking his seat at the table.

"What?" Sirius whispered, his face going pale. "Dumbledore was the reason I didn't get a trial? And he used the unforgivables on Harry?"

"We need to contact Hogwarts, it's bad enough that we've been kept out of his life for so long, we need to see him." Remus said, haphazardly putting Sirius's mug in front of him, spilling some of the tea as he did so, leaving his own mug on the side as he rushed over to the desk to write to Minerva McGonagall to ask to visit Harry.

"Yes, we do, but he can wait for breakfast." Sirius said, pulling the taller man back to the table. "You need to eat and take care of yourself, have you not been looking after yourself while I was gone?"

"There wasn't much reason to. I wasn't allowed to see Harry, and everyone else was gone." Remus said with a sigh, allowing Sirius to lead him back to the table.

"You never believed I would get out?" Sirius asked quietly, he almost sounded hurt, he knew it was a reasonable assumption, but it still hurt to know the most important person to him didn't believe he would ever get out of the living hell that was Azkaban.

"I hoped, I did everything I could, but life as a werewolf has become so much more difficult, and I was starting to loose hope." Remus said, pulling Sirius into a hug once the bread was in the toaster.

"Well I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere without you." Sirius said, pecking Remus on the lips, noticing that he had to not only go on his toes, but he had to jump, causing Remus to laugh. "Don't laugh! You're just too tall."

"Sure Pads." Remus said with a chuckle.

-----

It was a difficult morning for Harry, after reading the Daily Prophet everyone was looking at him. Everywhere he went there were whispers following him about what Dumbledore had done to him, or gossiping about what may have caused Dumbledore to act that way. Draco stuck with Harry to make sure that nobody asked him questions that were too personal, or so that he could answer the other questions.

It was very difficult to concentrate in classes, causing him to explode one of his potions, which caused him to have a detention that evening. Draco had made sure that he kept the plushies with him in case Harry needed to take a break during the day and hug them. McGonagall seemed distracted during class, however she did get Harry out of the detention.

That afternoon, Harry and Draco were pulled out of DADA for a meeting with the Malfoys. Harry didn't know why they were meeting the Malfoys, but he was glad for the excuse to leave, Professor Quirel always made him feel on edge, it didn't help that every time the two looked at each other, Harry's scar hurt.

"Good afternoon Draco, Harry." Lucius said, inclining his head towards the two boys who had just entered the empty classroom.

"Good afternoon Father, Mother." Draco said in response, a bright smile on his face as Harry only nodded.

Narcissa was smiling as she rushed forward to give the two boys a hug, far less formal than her husband, who Draco knew was fighting back a grin. Harry, like usual, was stiff at first, only used to receiving hugs from Draco or Melissa, but it didn't take long for him to accept the hug.

"It's good to see you both." Narcissa said after she let them both go. "Harry, we're actually here for you."

Harry stood up taller, not sure what he had done wrong, but not wanting to make it worse. Narcissa seemed to notice Harry's nerves, quickly getting to the point so that he didn't stress too much.

"It's nothing bad, don't worry Harry. We have a gift for you." Narcissa said with a smile, pulling a small, thin package from her robes and handing it over to Harry.

It was a bright green, with a loose silver ribbon tied in a moving bow over it. There was a black snake drawing slithering over the green wrapping paper. Harry held it with the same level of care as he would the crown jewels. Pulling off the bow, the paper fell away rather easily to reveal a delicate black box.

Harry's eyes widened when he saw what was inside the box. On top of the red velvet cushion lay an ornate pen with a pale nib. His name was engraved in the side in Draco's handwriting. It was a dark green with black spirals covering it.

"This is an air pen, it's supposed to look like a muggle invention and allows you to write in the air." Lucius said, walking over to Harry, who was still looking at the pen in shock.

"Do you like it?" Draco asked, beaming at Harry and practically glowing with happiness for Harry.

Harry nodded, holding the box carefully as he started to cry. He didn't know where to look, nor how to handle the overwhelming emotions he felt. He was happy the Malfoys cared enough about him to do that for him, but he also felt guilty for not being able to do anything to repay them. He knew the Malfoys were nothing like the Dursleys, but living with the Dursleys had taught him that in order to deserve anything nice, he had to work for it, so he didn't understand the Malfoys kindness towards him.

"Hey, it's okay." Draco said, knowing why Harry was crying, pulling him into a hug.

Narcissa, although having been shocked when Harry started crying, made eye contact with Lucius over the boys' heads. They shared a knowing look, before Narcissa wrapped both boys in her arms.
