I walked into a hotel bar and I walked over to the bar.

"Can I have a can of Coke please?" I asked the bartender.

"Sure." The bartender handed me the cold can and I handed him twenty bucks.

"Keep the change." I said. "Hey would you know where I can find Liam Ridley?"

"What do you want with Liam?" A brunette woman asked.

"I'm looking for my brother. Do you know where he is?" I asked.

"Liam has a sister?" A Latino man and a blond woman that were sat with the brunette asked.

"He has two younger sisters." The brunette said.

"He does." I said.

"But he said they hadn't talked in a while." The brunette said. "I know where he is can I ask what you want him for?"

"I'm assuming you're Fallon, my brother's fiancé." I said. "I was going to ask my brother if I could crash at his apartment cause my mother kicked me out."

"What did you do to get kicked out?" The Latino asked.

"Made out with a girl on my mother's sofa." I said.

"Sounds like Laura VanKirk's." Fallon said. "I'll show you where Liam is." Fallon lead me upstairs.

"So how did my brother land someone like you?" I asked.

"What's that mean?" Fallon asked.

"That his track record is absolutely shit and then we have the brunette billionaire with great eyebrows that isn't afraid to tell my mother to shove it." I said. Fallon laughed.

"It's a long story. So how old are you?" Fallon asked.

"19." I said.

"I just realised I don't even know your name." Fallon said.

"Ali VanKirk." I said as Fallon opened the door.

"Liam." Fallon called. Liam came into sight.

"Ali. What's up?" Liam asked.

"Uh, can I crash at your apartment?" I asked.

"Why?" Liam asked.

"Your mother kicked her out for making out with a girl on the couch." Fallon said.

"Are sure it was for that? Or was it for coming home drunk and high last night?" Liam asked.

"Oh fuck off I'll go find somewhere else to stay you prick." I said going to leave.

"He didn't say you couldn't stay at his apartment." Fallon said.

"This is what he does he acts like I'm a baby that needs protection. Well here's a news flash Liam I don't need your protection I can handle myself. I got pretty damn good at it while you fucked off." I said. Liam blocked the door.

"You're not going anywhere." Liam said.

"Fine. Suit yourself." I said sitting on the couch.

"What the hell?" Fallon asked. I pulled my phone out and called a friend.

Frazer: Hey where are you?

Ali: You still got that ticket?

Frazer: Yeah. You changed your mind?

Ali: Yeah come get me for god sake.

Frazer: Where are you?

Ali: La Mir-

Liam ripped the phone out my hand and hung up the call.

"What the hell is your problem?" Liam yelled.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You're running away like a little kid." Liam snapped.

"I'm not a little kid. I'm old enough to make my own decisions. Now give me my damn phone back." I said.

"No. That Frazer guy the one you got drugs from?" Liam asked.

"Stop trying to parent me Liam. Why do you care where I go or what I do? You haven't for the past 8 years." I snapped.

"You seriously think I don't care? I've always cared Ali." Liam said.

"Then where were you? If you really cared you would of picked up the phone when I called." I said. "Where the hell were you?"

"What are you talking about?" Fallon asked.

"I used to call Liam whenever I was having a rough time or going through stuff cause when we were both at how he would level me when he moved away he stopped answering my calls. On my graduation, everyone else has at least one member of their family there. I had nobody. Do you know what that does to a kid having two siblings and a mother and none of them turning up to your graduation? Do you know how that feels?" I asked. Liam gave me a look. "Right you don't neither does Kenzie cause the whole family was there for your graduations whether it was high school, college or university. I'm done waiting for you to be there for me Liam. I'm done thinking I need you." I said going to leave. Liam didn't move.

"Liam, she's hurting let her go. Leave her calm down." Fallon said.

"She's my little sister Fallon. I'm not going to leave her walk out of here when I don't know she'll walk back through it." Liam said.

"Then go after her. Call her, check up on her. Prove to her that you're sorry for making her feel like that and that you've changed." Fallon said. "Let her stay at your apartment. It's a 10-minute walk away." Liam handed me the key to his apartment.

"No more drugs though?" Liam asked.

"Okay." I said. I left.

Timeskip

I woke up to someone shaking me. I looked around realising that I fell asleep doing college work last night. I looked up to see Fallon.

"Liam had a meeting and I thought you wouldn't appreciate being woken up earlier than 7." Fallon said.

"You got coffee?" I groaned.

"Just finished brewing and I brought donuts." Fallon said. I started picking up my worksheets and putting them away. "How are you finding your art and design course?" Fallon asked sliding me a cup of coffee as I sat down on one of the bar stools.

"Way better than my business course." I said sipping the hot coffee.

"That group this evening Liam's working late do you want me to come or are you going to go by yourself?" Fallon asked.

"Uh, I'll be fine on my own but can you pick me up after?" I asked.

"Yeah. I can do that. So what are your plans today?" Fallon asked. I shrugged.

"Coursework and Netflix probably." I said.

"God that sounds depressing. No scrap those plans. You and I'll go do something." Fallon said.

"You sure you wanna babysit my ass all day?" I asked.

"It's not babysitting it's bonding time with my future sister in law." Fallon said messing with my hair.

"Do that again and I'll break your wrist." I said.

"I'd like to see you try Ali." Fallon said. I rolled my eyes.

"See if I said that to anyone else they'd give me a concussion and smack me in the head." I said. "You just dare me to do it."
