Kaci's PoV
My mom was away on a business trip for work so I was staying with Grandpa. I walked downstairs cause I was hungry."Grandpa, Anders, people. I'm hungry." I yelled. The door opened. Uncle Steven walked in.
"Uncle Steven." I yelled running at him. He picked me up spinning me around.
"Hey Kaci." Uncle Steven said kissing my head.
"I missed you. What are you doing back?" I asked. Steven smirked.
"I missed my favourite niece didn't I?" Uncle Steven asked.
"Hey, I thought I was your favourite." I said. Uncle Steven laughed.
"Kaci, you're my only niece." Uncle Steven said.
"Oh yeah. Anyways, I'm going to go look for food." I said walking off.
"Bye Kaci." Uncle Steven chuckled as I walked into the kitchen.
"Kaci, are you alright?" Mrs Gunnerson asked.
"I'm hungry." I said.
"There's brownies in the fridge." Mrs Gunnerson said. I walked to the fridge and grabbed a brownie as I walked back into the foyer. Uncle Steven was hugging my mom.
"Mom." I yelled running towards her. She caught me and picked me up kissing my cheek.
"Hey." Mom said laughing.
"You're back." I said.
"Yes Kac, I'm back." Mom said. "You been good for grandpa?" Mom asked.
"Me? Good. I'm a little angel." I said.
"I know that's a lie. You're me." Mom said.
"Now that's a lie you know how to tell." Uncle Steven said.
"Hey. There's no need to be mean about it. I know it's true." I said sticking my tongue out at him.
"I missed you so much." Mom said.
"I missed you too." I said. Anders walked out.
"Fallon, Steven. I didn't know your father was expecting you two. Especially you." Anders said looking at Steven.
"I come for the hospitality." Steven said.
"You told me you came to see me. Liar." I said.
"You and the hospitality, Kac." Steven said.
"Dad asked us and my child lives here." Fallon said "Where is he?"
"In a meeting." Anders said. Mom walked towards Grandpa's office with me in her arms.
"Fallon, don't..." Anders called out.
"Hey, guess who's..." Mom opened the door cutting herself off and putting her hands over my eyes.
"Oh, my God." Mom said.
"What are you doing here?" Grandpa asked Mom and Uncle Steven.
"Who are you doing here?" Uncle Steven asked.
"I think she works for the company." Mom said putting me down but I still hid my face in her leg.
"Oh, wow, these are your..." I heard a woman say.
"Hi, Daddy." Mom said tapping my shoulder telling me it was safe to look.
"Your children." The woman said.
"Grandchild." I said.
"And you are?" Uncle Steven asked.
"Looking for a promotion." Mom chuckled.
"Fallon, this obviously isn't how I intended for you all to meet, but..." Grandpa got cut off.
"Why would we be meeting at all?" Mom asked.
"Fallon, Steven, Kaci this is Cristal, my fiancée." Grandpa said. Mom went to change and we moved to the conservatory and I was sat in Mom's lap.
"So, this is a nice surprise. I'm usually the one that makes things awkward around here." Steven said breaking the awkward silence in the room.
"I'm happy to relieve you of that burden." Cristal said.
"Why didn't you call me? If I knew you were coming..." Grandpa said.
"Why are you so surprised? You asked us to come..." Steven said.
"When's the last time you did what I asked?" Grandpa asked.
"Uh this morning when you told me to come down for breakfast." I said.
"Kaci baby, he was on about Steven and me." Mom said kissing my head. "Oh, Dad, stop acting as if you don't bang all of your girlfriends in front of us."
"I've heard so much about you three." Cristal said.
"And I've heard so much of you two." I said. Mom smirked.
"And we've heard nothing about you." Mom said.
"Well, that's why I called. Get to know Cristal
before the engagement party this Sunday." Grandpa said."So, you've told other people?" Mom asked.
"Other people called me back." Grandpa said.
"Uncle Steven didn't even call me back." I said.
"When did you call me?" Steven asked.
"All the time on Grandpa's phone." I said.
"Kaci, he wasn't ignoring you he was ignoring Grandpa and because you were calling of his phone it was showing Grandpa's name." Mom said. I nodded.
"It happened so fast. Cristal's been an associate in PR for four years now, but she's only recently caught
my attention. She hasn't let go." Grandpa said as Cristal slid her hand up his thigh to his chest."At least we know what happened to Kim Kardashian's stolen ring." Mom said.
"Fallon." Grandpa said.
"Yeah, that's ridiculous. They arrested those guys." Uncle Steven said.
"Why'd they steal her ring? It was tacky should of stolen her necklace." I said. Mom kissed my head playing with my hair.
"You. Not helping." Grandpa said to Steven.
"You're right, Daddy. No point getting upset. It's only an engagement. Anything can happen." Mom said standing up.
"Can I go play?" I asked.
"Yeah." Mom said kissing my head before putting me down. I went upstairs to go play. Mom came in after a while. She sat next to me on the bed.
"Wanna go watch a movie and cuddle?" Mom asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Come on then." Mom said standing up and walking to her room. I followed her and jumped on her bed..
"What film do you wanna watch?" Mom asked.
"Minions." I said.
"Alright. Come here then." Mom said tapping the bed next to her. I sat next to Mom and leaned into her side. She wrapped her arm around me and set the film up.
"I missed you while you were away." I said.
"I missed you too baby. Culhane was telling me that he taught you how to throw a ball in basketball and was teaching you how to play football." Mom said kissing my head.
"Yeah and he sulked cause I beat him when we were racing." I said. Mom laughed.
