Ava's heart was pounding at an alarming rate . Her hands were shaking tremendously and her throat was running dry .
She was not thinking straight ... And her feet lead her to the storeroom
She couldn't believe it.
Are the others right? Am I really going crazy? Is my mind playing with me ?
Her train of thoughts was interrupted by the buzzing of her phone which startled her.
"Hey Ava .... I wanted to check on you .... You're ok? Should I come over?" Emily's soft voice sounded from the other line .
"...um...I...he....argh" Ava was still fumbling.
"Hey it's ok.... Don't be stressed.... Sam didn't mean that.... But well.... We can't totally say she's wrong ". Emily said concerned
"No.... It's not 'bout her ...I..... Emily .... I think I just was Shawn ... He came here .... And he was standing on my front door." Ava explained as cold sweat broke out on her forehead
"He must be worried fo-......
Wait wait wait!!!!...
I broke Shawn's leg!!!! And he can't even stand !!!!". Emily shouted over her newfound realisation
"E-exactly my point !" Ava said still not over the fact
"Are you sure it wasn't someone else? Or your dream?"
"I don't think so... I was poundering over our talk.... And the doorbell rang ... He asked me if I was doing good and I realised the situation and hit his head in the wall.... And ran to...... wait where am I again?.... Yeah storeroom .... " Ava explained
"I.... Did you really bang his head ? ... Poor Shawn.... I mean .... How can that happen.....let me ask Shawn ok ?...you drink that chocolate smoothy I sent ok...." Emily said
"Mhm.... Call me back okay...."
"Will do .... Rest for now." Emily hanged up and scrolled through her contacts .... And clicked on the green icon beside the name which made her feel guilty.
Shawn picked up after 5 rings
"H-hey Emily" he shuttered not expecting her to call.... She never called first
"Hey.... Um.... H-how is your leg? .... Is is still painful?" Emily asked concerned and guilty
"..n-not much .... It's much better now" that you called he thought
"Where are you ?" She said out of literally nowhere
"..... I am home Eric came over and we were playing The Price Of Dawn ... I can't really do anything else " he joked
"Ok...Bye!"
She hanged up real quick

Shawn was left confused "Bye?" He uttered to the beep.
"YAH YOU ! LEAVE YOUR PHONE AND FOCUS ON THE GAME YOU BASTARD!" Eric shouted as their characters in the game were bombarded by enemies
"Oh ..yeah right!" He held onto his gaming console and pressed multiple buttons

If Shawn can't do "anything else" he can't possibly walk to Ava's place
So t-that means ? . Emily wondered before dialing Ava's number
"Hey..."
"Hey I.... drank that smoothie ...it was good .... When did you give it?" Ava said
"Mom was going to the super market I told her to drop that at your house .....
By the way.... I called Shawn ...." Emily said
"...mhm.....and ?" Ava said totally forgetting her smoothie
"He said he's playing some video games with Eric ... And he said he can't do anything but play .... Um... You know...." Emily told
"Oh.... Emily I .... What's happening.... Idk .... It's weird ..... I don't know if it's mind...or I am imagining.... Or is it something else ?" Ava was yet again confused
"See Ava... Let's not read too much between the lines..... Relax your mind and you can sort it out .... Or we can talk it out okay..." Said Emily to calm down her best friend
"Hmm... Yeah ..."
"Go and rest a bit now ... Sleep ... I'll send you the song playlist for calming your mind okay"
"Yeah ...thanks Mily" Ava said finally hanging up
Ava hanged up and went in her room to sleep because at this moment all she wanted was to shut her mind and to think of nothing
~Next day~
Sam dialled Ethan's number to no. to wish him god morning
But he never picked it
This was weird considering the fact that Ethan picked Sam's call within 2 rings
She tried again
Why is he not picking up?! What's with people and calls ?! Sam was getting anxious
Now all she could think of was to see Ethan with her own eyes
She quickly got up , took a quick shower and ran off ignoring her mom's bickering
She knew she was in trouble but all she could think of was seeing Ethan and asserting that he was alright.
She reached Ethan's house which was some four blocks away .
She knocked and waited .
"Oh Sam it's so good to see you dear ... Come on in " greeted Ethan's mom
"Good morning Mrs. Karls .... Is... Ethan home ?" She asked politely covering up her anxiety
"I guess he is ... He is sleeping still.... Didn't even have breakfast... Ahh what do I do with this boy " Mrs. Karls said leading Sam in
"You'll have breakfast right Sam dear ?" She asked
"...I ... It's ok mrs. Karls ... I'll pass ... I'll meet Ethan first ... If you don't mind " Sam asserted
"Ofcourse , he'll be happy to see you" Mrs. Karls smiled
Sam ran to Ethan's room whose directions she knew by heart
Once she reached there she saw the blanket hovering over what seemed like a body, phone on the night stand and everything was calm
Sam sighed as she began to pull off the sheets to see the handsome face of her boyfriend.
But she never saw that .
There was nothing beneath the sheets except for some pillows .
No handsome face No Ethan
Sam was dumbstruck
W-where are you Ethan She thought and broke down on the bedroom floor ~
