Aragorn parted from you after you reached the gates of Rivendell, claiming he had to fulfill your king's orders. you dismount and walk lina the rest of the way, growing tired of sitting on the saddle.

you were shocked that Aragorn did not want to stay in Rivendell for the night, seeing as he called it home for a time. as you walked through the gates, you couldn't help but marvel at the gorgeous architecture that the mystical elves forged. you've never seen an elf in person, only stories from Aragorn. Aragorn is the only person not Wracevellian that you've met.

as you travel through Rivendell, truthfully having no clue as to where you're going, you see a beautiful elf with long dark hair waiting for you, "sister of Aragorn" she began, "he said you would be arriving soon." you smile at her as another elf comes beside you and takes Lina and all your belongings off of your hands, walking toward a tall tower. "I am Arwen, daughter of lord Elrond, and lady of Rivendell." she greeted herself. "I am y/n, daughter of lord Simmons, princess of Wracevell." you both bowed at each other, and she fell into step next to you.

"Aragorn speaks highly of you, princess y/n" Arwen began, "and he you." you smiled at her, taking a moment to acknowledge her beauty. elves truly were ethereal creatures, being graceful without even trying, and always being as beautiful as ever. you couldn't help but feel envy, knowing you most likely looked like an orc next to her.

"princess, I must take a moment of admiration for you." Arwen said, nearly making you gasp in surprise. "whatever do you mean lady Arwen?" you questioned her. "you see, I envy you." you couldn't help but mentally take note of yourself. you had to change out of your regal clothes for riding, so you settled for a light brown dress, that was by no means as beautiful as Arwen's gown. you were also sure you reeked after days of journey, your hair was anything but tame, and your face riddled with dirt as you have been sleeping on the ground.

"let me elaborate, the gathering happening to decide what shall happen with the ring has been deemed a small, trustworthy gathering. only the strongest and wisest of each empire are being met there, and you were selected specifically." me? you took a moment to consider this. you had read just about every book in the castle. from mystical stories to the oldest battle strategies. you had also trained beside your father, the general, and the strongest in his army. training until you could defeat even the tallest and most heavily guarded man. your father had done all of that on purpose, to prepare you to do just this. make decisions for Wracevell. to decide the fate of the free people of middle earth.

"but you're the only woman who's been invited." that made you stop in your tracks. "even my father has not invited me, or any of my fellow female elves. but he asked for your kingdom to send you. I can only hope that means you are going to do great things princess." she looks at you, placing her soft hands on your shoulder. "I swear on my life that I will prove my worth, no matter how long it takes." you stare proudly into her eyes and she nods approvingly.

she leads you to your room in the tower the elf from earlier walked toward with your items. you open the door and are met with a gorgeous room, with a round bed, covered in white sheets and blankets. the headboard was made out of branches and leaves, with white lace falling from the top, making a sort of tent on the top. but the most magnificent part was the balcony taking up an entire wall of the bedroom. you walked toward the balcony taking in the view: the river behind the castle, and the waterfall that gives it the beautiful flow of wind. the trees giving it shade, and the water giving it life. a wondrous construct of nature, merely feet away from where you shall sleep.

"it is beautiful Arwen, I cannot give you enough thanks."

"the gathering will happen the day after next, please make yourself comfortable, night will fall on you in one hour." with that, she makes her exit.
