I wanna give a huge thanks to thankyouux for all the help she's given me. Really couldn't be updating without her🥺 anyways hope you like it!

Laura refused to leave until we figured out how I became an alpha after the fire. She agreed to me staying because it can be painful for a wolf to be without its mate, and I was not going to ask Hope to leave everything she's ever known so I can be with my sister and brother.

Laura was really intrigued by everything at our school but, was more fascinated with my mate. She had yet to meet other breeds of wolves and my mate was one of them. She was confused on how Hope could be an alpha but still have yellow eyes. She didn't doubt her strength as an alpha after she saw her sometimes overpower me while sparing.

"I think we need to go to the vault y/nn. If mom really knew more than she was letting on, there has to be something there." Laura told me and Hope.

"What's the vault?" Hope asked confused.

Laura gave me her 'are you serious right now' look. "You haven't told her everything that comes with being a Hale?"

I felt myself grow angry. How quickly I tell things to my mate wasn't any of her business. Hope and I have both been through horrible things and how quickly we open up to each other about them was up to us. Not for people to pressure us into it.

"What is she talking about y/nn?" Hope gave me a confused look.

"Things we haven't gotten to yet." I said through gritted teeth. Hope simply nodded understanding that I just wasn't ready yet. She always understood when I needed more time just like when I have to be patient with her when it comes to things about her parents. Her mom in specific.

"You can't just act like your past didn't happen y/n. You have to tell her everything." She almost sounded like mom except mom would have understood that Hope and I were at our own pace.

"I'll tell her when I'm good and ready Laura. She knows that. We both have things we're slowly opening up to each other about but, that doesn't concern you." I felt Hope grab my hand intertwining our fingers. She knew her touch soothed me. I gave her hand a squeeze.

"We'll go wherever this vault is. Just calm down. Both of you." Hope squeezed my hand in return.

I nodded reluctantly. I wasn't ready to go back to Beacon Hills but we needed answers so Laura would go back with Derek and just let us be.

We were in our own little happy bubble for like five minutes before my past wanted to come and bite us in the ass. I wanted us to go back to our happy bubble. Where me and her had control over our own lives. On our own terms.

"There's a couple things you need to know before we go." Laura told Hope giving me a look that told me she was talking about the Argents.

"She knows about them Laura." I warned my sister. Hope didn't know everything, but she knew enough.

"Does she understand how dangerous it is for us to go back to Beacon Hills? For you in specific?"

"Nothing is happening to her as long as I'm alive. You don't have to worry. Now let's go." I growled at my sister.

I wanted to get this over with. I didn't care what we found as long as Laura went away.

"Great. Playing martyr for your mate of three seconds." My sister growled shoving me away from Hope hard. I landed on the ground with a thud.

I got up growling ready to pounce on my sister for pushing me but, before I could, Hope had pinned my sister to the wall by her throat.

"Don't ever touch her again!" She growled her eyes glowing a dominating gold.

Laura fought Hope's grip, but it was no use. She tightened her grip on my sister's throat.

"You want us to come, we'll come. Nothing is happening to her so long as I'm around. And I'm sure she hasn't told you this but, I'm immortal. I don't care if you're her sister. Don't ever touch my mate again." Hope growled in Laura's face.

Hope lets go of my sister and came to my side hugging me tightly. I hugged her back as my sister glared at us both holding her throat.

"I have to read up on some spells. I'll be back." Hope kissed me gently.

"Okay. See you soon." I kissed her before she left the room.

I turned my attention to Laura who was still staring daggers into me.

I smiled coyly at Laura's sour impression, the almost noticeable bruise forming on her neck was slowly fading away, and I rolled my eyes as she stormed over my way.

It wasn't that I hated my sister, she was just hardheaded, like someone else I know.

"You truly have changed, y/nn."

"Really? Explain, then." I raised a brow.

"You just let her get off with treating me that way? I'm your sister!... and an alpha!" Laura huffed.

I huffed. "Tch. You remember that we're both Alpha's and Hope is a tribrid. She's not going to back down to you of all people. If anything, she'd probably bump heads with Derek..." I turned away to cross my arms, rolling my eyes again as Laura let out a loud huff and small chuckle.

"You're her little bitch, aren't you?"

I snapped my head to Laura, eyes blazing. "Speak that way to me again and I might as well finish what Hope started!" I snarled. Laura's eyes shone their menacing color, challenging me.

If she wasn't my sister, I'd happily rip Laura's throat out. But sadly, that wasn't the case at all. Laura always had a tendency to accept a good challenge, that's why she was put in her place by Hope. Mother always did warn Laura that snappy attitude would get her into difficult situations.

"Like it or not, Laura, you were vested by another Alpha." I said teasingly. "So just suck it up like a big girl, or cry about it another time. Or just do both, just not near me."

"You're not the same, y/nn. This place has done you good, as far to what I've seen."

"Wha-"

"Mommy's little follower, ring a bell?"

"Wow, we went there then, huh? Didn't know we're making jokes about dead family now."

"We're not!"

"Right..."

Laura sighed, bringing her fingers up to her temple and rubbing at it. "You're just as bad as Derek."

"Glad you think of me so highly, sister."
