Penelope's First Full Moon

Hope's POV

It's been almost a week since the attack and me biting Penelope Park. Once seeing the bite mark heal, her eyes glow that golden color, after a day we knew she would turn. Into what, we didn't know...

I wasn't able to turn another person before. That ability was all y/n's. I saw how distraught y/n was after turning Landyn. She's linked to Landyn in a way I never understood.

And now I'm linked in a similar way to Penelope. Penelope Park. We had no idea that my bite could turn a person let alone a witch. What's crazier is that she can still practice magic. Her temper is nowhere near as bad as Landyn's was either.

She had no problem following my direction. She also didn't hold any anger to me. I think it was because she could still practice magic. I think she would have hated me if she lost that ability.

Tonight, is her first full moon. We have no idea what to expect. Would she turn like Landyn? Like y/n did before she evolved? Or would she turn like I first did?

Will she have the intense pain to shift? Will her bone break and reform for a transformation? Or will she simply be fine?

Do we lock her up in a cell like the rest of the wolves or do we chain her to a tree like Landyn? How do we prepare for the unknown?

I was caught up in my thought when I felt soft lips against my cheek. I smiled knowing it was y/n. I turned to look at her.

"Everything okay princess?" I asked her before she had the chance to ask me.

"I'm okay. I'm just worried about you. Tonight, is Penelope's first full moon and we have no idea what to expect."

I made a face at that. She was right. We had no idea what I actually created.

"Just know whatever is to come we'll face it together." She gave me a reassuring smile.

I smiled back at her and kissed her. She always knew what to say. Tonight, might be one of the most terrifying nights of my life but I had her by my side.

I checked over the locks on the chains. Landyn and Penelope decided to be chained together tonight.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" I asked Penelope unsure.

She gives me a half smile. "Yes. Just thinking about being in a cell has me panicking." She gently grabbed Landyn's hand. "Plus, I won't be alone."

I shook my head. "You wouldn't have been alone in the cell either. I'm with you every step of the way." I remind her.

Y/n checked Landyn over. She finished up with her and came to my side.

"Landyn's all set. Do you need anything Penelope?" She asked sweetly.

Penelope smiled at y/n. "No thank you. You've done more than enough for me. I really appreciate it."

Y/n smiled. "You're part of our pack now Penelope. We'll always be here."

I really appreciate that y/n and Penelope get along. I don't know how this situation would have been like if they didn't like one another. I definitely couldn't handle them arguing all the time like Landyn and I did to y/n. Y/n has so much patience for dealing with me.

I double checked the locks and made sure they weren't in Penelope's or Landyn's reach. Penelope really looked nervous.

"What are some possibilities for tonight?" She blurted.

Y/n sighed. "Well, you can shift like Landyn does. The way I did when I first turned. The way Hope is learning to control. This initial transformation is followed by our fingers or toenails lengthening into claws and our teeth sharpening into fangs. Further changes consist of a ridged brow, an alteration of body or facial hair including sideburns on our faces, a lengthening and sharpening of our ears. We also acquire the ability to lop, which is running using both our hands and feet." Y/n explained.
