3pm

"Oi oi. What took so long?"

"Gomen Emiko" He sheepishly apologised. I clicked my tongue, "Let's go?"

I nodded and we began to walk to the train station

"Where are we going?"

"I have a list of random stuff to do throughout the day. First, we're going to see a movie, then a bookstore for a little. Then the zoo and something else at the end"

"You seem to have this well thought out. This won't be a bore will it?"

Strawberry simply shrugged, "That's not my deduction to make. It's yours" I simply hummed

Six hours later

I looked up at the night sky, looking into the distance as we sat on a cliff edge. The stars glistened

I turned to the boy next to me and found him staring

I turned to the boy next to me and found him staring

"What?" I questioned, "Do I have something-?" He cut me off

"Say Emiko. If you could have one thing in your life what would it be?"

I shrugged, bringing my knees to my chest

"I don't know," I thought about it for a moment, staring back out at the sky

"Let me rephrase that. What is the thing you want the most but don't have?"

"Want the most but don't have..." I closed my eyes, "I suppose that would be a peace of mind, or to be free possibly"

"What do you mean?"

"My past--" I looked down at my hands, "is the reason I became an assassin. I have one main target that I've spent my life tracking down" He nodded, not saying anything further about the topic

"Say. Do you think you have enough room in your heart to love?"

I exhaled softly, "It's not that I don't have enough room. I suppose I'm not brave enough to face love. Despite being surrounded by Lovro Sensei and Oneesan; it's more like I'm--"

"Scared?" I looked at him but didn't reply

"I'm talking rubbish. Forget about it" I stretched my legs out in front of me and stood up, "I suppose we should get going then, shall we?"

I offered him a hand but instead of standing up, he pulled me down and above him. My eyes widened at the sudden contact

"What are you-?"

"Shh," I stayed quiet, knowing he wasn't finished, "Please, could we stay like this? For a little while?"

I didn't respond. I was too busy trying to figure out why I feel like this. It disgusts me but at the same time it doesn't, I don't particularly want it but I don't want him to let me go either. This feeling, it's weird, detestable almost but also not. Agh! This is why I don't like feeling. I hate it because I don't know how to act when I get these feelings

After some time, he finally let me go and stood up with me

"Gomen, let's go" I nodded, pulling my hood and mask on

Karma Akabane PoV

I stared at her as we walked down the mountain. How do I tell her--

"Karma" She turned around with a soft look in her eyes, "I haven't had this much of a good time in a while, I'm only saying this once so listen well"

I perked up, listening intently for what she has to say

"Arigato" It was above a whisper but under her normal voice, "For today" She grabbed my wrist and began to pull me as I was too busy being shocked. Not long later we reached my house

How do I tell her? That I-

My face blew up into red when I felt her intertwine our index fingers. It's not much to other people but to me, this was a big and balanced step

How do I tell her? That I'm in love with her?

"Bakabane" I snapped out of my thoughts

"Yeah?"

"I said I was leaving" I nodded

"I'll see you at school" she let out a low hum

"Jā ne"

She turned around to leave. But before she could, I grabbed her wrist and whipped her around to face me, I pulled her mask down and quickly leaned in, giving her a soft peck on the lips

"Bye" I quickly turned around and shut the door behind me

Emiko Mizuki PoV

I raised a hand and pressed the back of my hand against my lips

My cheeks instantly burned at the realisation. I quickly shook my head and tapped my cheeks a little, taking deep breaths before turning around and leaving
