Chapter 3: full steam ahead

My alarm goes off at 5:30 am and I look over to see Lindsey still sleeping  soundly in bed. I pull off my covers and go into the bathroom to brush my teeth and throw my hair into a quick messy bun. I throw on our warmup suit and go over to Lindsey's bed and scratch her back to wake her up. I give her 20 minutes to get ready and then we head downstairs for breakfast. In the elevator we meet Alex and Kelley and much like us they're still half asleep. Everyone is pretty groggy at breakfast except for Rose who is always up and ready to move. I eat some quick oatmeal and drink some Gatorade, we have 15 minutes to grab our bags and get on the bus. We wrap up our gear and pile onto the bus, we have a 10 minute drive to the park so I blast my music and tone everything out. It is a warm and sunny day here in South Florida, but there are expected thunderstorms later. We stretch and get ready to start our morning training session, my teammates and I all recognize the fitness tests laid out for us and I am especially dreading the Yo Yo pacers test. Training was 4 hours of pure fitness  and at 1 we headed over to go lift weights. Once we got to the weight room we realized that it had started pouring outside. Everyone is very dead but overall pumped, we have big things ahead of us especially preparing for the olympics in June. We lift a few sets and practice jumping and leg weights and then run our 2 mile cool down on the treadmill. We have the rest of the day off, so me and Lindsey decide to go back to the room and get showered and into some comfy lounge clothes. We decide to watch a movie and then do an ice bath after. We chose the movie Frozen and then I lay down on my bed to watch, I see Lindsey looking over at me so I motion for her to come over and lay on the bed with me. She puts her head on my chest, I start to get nervous and my heart starts beating faster, I see her looking up at me, we both smile with bright red cheeks, I lean down and I kiss her. Oh my god what did I just do, I didn't have much time to think because Sonny knocks on the door and Lindsey runs out without saying a word. I immediately called Jane and told her what happened, I hope I didn't ruin the friendship. Sonny looks at me with a confused look and she leaves without another thought and goes after Lindsey. I sit on my bed and think about what just happened? Did she run because she liked it too much or not at all, my mind is racing.
