A veteran of life hates when young complain about the slow pace
They enjoy the silent nights, long walks gazing at space
Although so distant they are intimate with the sky
For they've seen it through their wrinkled ethereal eyes a thousand times
and they've changed their narrative again and again
they've realized
Everybody could leave them,
but the planets never stray too far away
A veteran of life, he's decided today is the day
He wish's now to return home to stay
